tinymagic, your PM's apparently aren't working either. Can you turn them on? Thanks!

Tiny, go to "Your Settings" on the left column, then go to the bottom of that page and click on "Edit Your Settings."

Hey guys, I just got my CD in the mail from Sh-K-Boom, and I wanted to tell you guys about it. (I apologize if there's already been a posting about the packaging.) I'm fairly certain that the recording itself is exactly the same as the iTunes version. I've been very impressed with the Sh-K-Boom folks in terms of packaging in general, and this is no exception. Here, the booklet is 44 pages in color, including all of the lyrics (but not the un-recorded dialogue). There are some nice color photos of the production, but probably ones that you have seen already. There is a short essary by Charles Isherwood(!) and a longer discussion of the path the show has taken by Bill Bragin, Director of Joe's Pub at the Public. It's all very well put-together. That being said, if you already got the recording from iTunes, I'm not sure it's worth paying for the recording again, although it is nice to have the lyrics.
(I also want to thank the Sh-K-Boom folks for putting the ugly "PARENTAL ADVISORY - EXPLICIT CONTENT" marker as a sticker on the case rather than on the booklet itself like most companies do. A small thing, but appreciated!)

Thanks for the info about the recording mikem. I'm looking forward to picking this up somewhere on Tuesday even more now. I hope to get it signed on Sunday too!
I would NOT get it at the theater, where it's $25. Sh-K-Boom will probably mail it to you before Sunday, although it might be a gamble given how soon the closing is at this point. I ordered it last Sunday night, got a notice on Monday around noon that it had been shipped, and it came I think on Friday. (I was out of town so not sure exactly when it came.) People who live in New York have said they've gotten their orders in 2 days. There is a BWW discount for Sh-K-Boom for 10% off -- the code is SHKWORLD -- so it was $13.49, including shipping. Not bad!
I'm also getting mine signed on Sunday. Also, the poster for the show changed (I gather a few weeks ago). Rather than just being the logo and Stew (see my avatar on the left), it now includes a review quote and pictures of the rest of the cast. They are only selling the new one and not the old one at the theater.

Stew invited the kids & myself to come backstage for a brief tour the last time we saw the show, so we went today. We got to go onstage and take a look around. The house looks small from the stage, and you can clearly see all the way to the back row of the balcony. With all the backlighting from the light wall illuminating the crowd, I'm sure the cast has some stories of inappropriate audience behavior to tell.
First of all, this was my first time at Joe's Pub and I LOVE IT. What a fantastic space. Downside, them drinks was expensive yo. I had three and it came out to 43 bucks. Bartenders were very nice though.
I had a really really really good time. They were all so damn amazing, which makes the closing even harder than it already is. They did a lot of remixes (is that the right word? Renditions?) of the songs we've come to know and love. When they did Identity in a bluesy soul track, and everyone loved it. I was in tears. It really showed how talented that Daniel Breaker is. Amazing!!
That concert was 95% brilliance and 5% WTF. What a talented, special cast hahaha. They never cease to amaze me...or amuse me, goddamn. They performed a lot of music that is NOT in the current show; stuff that was cut when it was off b-way/at Berklee. I think some of that stuff should've been kept in there, but what can ya do. I especially enjoyed De'adre's improv...making Stew laugh so hard he had to stop playing and sit down.
I got some very interesting video footage that I'll upload on the 'tube soon...including the extra long raunchy version of 'We Just Had Sex' hehehe.

Don't forget the hillbilly country version of Berlin.
Lots of improv on the songs, no songs were the same as in the show, demonstrating the incredible talent of everyone. And this is clearly a group of people who enjoy hanging out and working together. No Keys, which was my only disappointment, but a really great experience. Saw several people taking cellphone videos, so I hope that a lot of it will show up online.
What I meant by no Keys was the rocking-out version similar to what they do onstage. I had expected them to do something akin to the Obie Awards performance. But I enjoyed the low-key versions of the songs just as much, if not more.
