Chita, I'm having a problem get used to your new avatar!! I like it, but I don't associate it with you at the moment.
Oh sorry, it's been like tat for a week or two.
It's LEIGH ANN LARKIN! The most amazing performer!
Chris Jackson was out, unfortunately. His understudy Rogelio Douglas, Jr. was wonderful, however.
Um slightly jealous that you got to see Rogelio's Benny- can I hear more about this please? I *love* his dancing, have been wanting to hear him sing the Benny numbers for a while now.
Glad you had such a great stage door experience. :)
Well, it's harder for me to say; since that's the only time I saw the show, I don't have anything to compare it to! He was very capable and fit into the part very well. He didn't seem like an understudy in any way, he had a very formed character and hit every note spot-on. He really sparkled, you could tell he was enjoying himself in songs like 96,000, and he and Mandy had some great moments (slightly amusing, is she taller than him? That could be my memory playing tricks, but I remember noticing there was not much of a height difference.)
When they are on the ledge at the top of Act 2 and she is wearing his shirt, some girls in the back row did catcalls and "WHOOO OW OW" and the like. That was the one negative in the show for me - had I been close, there would have been a glare shot their way. I will never get used to catcalls during a Broadway show, if it's not the bows!
Did anyone go last night? There were rumblings that Lin, Robin, Karen, Stephanie, and Eliseo were all calling out to go to RENT and Olga had a planned absence and Chris has been out.
Was it nuts?
Thanks for that recap HometownGlory... and yeah, Sunrise usually does get catcalls of some form actually.
ok the Sunday night RENT situation sounds amazing, if it happened, does anyone know?
I didn't realize ITH had Sunday evening performances.
They started them on Sunday...really should have just waited a week. haha
yep, Sunday eve Heights performances started up again after Labor day, Wed eve show is dropped.
I could understand Robin wanting to be there for the last performance as he made his Broadway debut in Rent.
Only Lin was at the performance. Tommy Kail and Quiara were at the show as well. The entire cast was at the after party, though.
I know definitely that Shaun was Usnavi, Krysta was Carla and Blanca was Abuela for the night show. I'm not positive about Rogelio on for Benny for the night show, but I'm pretty sure. For the matinee, Blanca was Abuela, Krysta was Carla, and Rogelio was Benny.

Do you know of any understudies for the matinee tomorrow?
I figured that LIn was jut there for before the performance but then I saw him at intermission. I saw Karen after the show, and I didn't see anyone else but there were pics of other cast members like Mandy, Robin, Priscilla and some others. I think everyone was at the party.
Um- I legit almost started crying while reading this- so, apparently last Friday's performance of Heights raised $1.5 million in financial aid for Lin-Manuel Miranda's alma mater:
The event originated when an anonymous donor informed the University that he or she had purchased each of the 1,319 seats and 21 standing room spaces within the Richard Rodgers Theatre in Manhattan, the home of “In the Heights,” for the show’s Sept. 5 performance. Tickets were then distributed by the University in a variety of configurations...

Um- I am *dying* at "the optional English lyrics." Dying. Total genius.
Ok just bought the recording today. I love it. I will be coming to NYC to see this show soon.
Is there an online message board that's strictly for ITH(like The Guilty Ones, Compulsive Bowlers, etc.)? I am specifically looking for a place to read about daily ITH u/s and reviews.
Yes
I'm loving Legally Brown. Brilliant!
I'm going to see the show the night of my bday on October 10th, I can't wait!
