Up until tonight, I felt like Autumn was getting the "winner's edit." She certainly didn't get it tonight. I don't think any of them did, to be honest.
"Hey Fans! Hope you guys are all having a Happy Monday, getting super siked for tonights NEW Episode! Not only is it gonna be a GREAT one, I am sure...but It is the 2nd to LAST episode. (tear) Can you all believe it's comming to an end? How sad. I rememer leaving the house going back home to SC and having to say "goodbye" to all the pretty ladies of LB. It was so sad, but bitter sweet. I missed home and my family. Once I got back home to sunny SC...I hopped in My PINK VW Bug and met up with some friends, shopped, went to church...and just rolled the windows down and felt the wind through my hair. What a nice feeling! :)..."
I posted a comment on this blog post because I was wondering if she means she got cut or when the entire competition ended.
IT did seem as though Autumn was very " I deserve this so much more..." this week, but I always keep in mind the way the show is edited. Bailey did a good job this week(I though she would), but like Berny said, she doesn't have the emotional depth that is required for the audience to root and feel for her. Autumn was very in and out for me this week, but I thought she did well. I thik with rehearsals she'd be amazing in the role. I'm still rooting for Autumn. I get where she was coming from. Go A-girl :}
Honestly, I have friends who have worked non-stop in regional and off-Broadway and national tours for 20 and 30 years plus, and are insanely talented, and have yet to book their first Broadway gig. So she just came off as young and naive to me, where she was trying to come off as the mature, experienced girl-who-has-gotten-short-shrift-from-Broadway.
I think Bailey has "goodbye" in quotes because she believes they'll still be friends and/or see each other in the biz.

Bailey talked about the competition coming to an end. That tells me she sticks around to the end (not that that is shocking...Rhiannon is gonna be eliminated at the beginning of next week). The fact that goodbye is in quotes could mean that it was goodbye for now, since I assume all the girls will be present for the reveal of the new Elle Woods. Or it could mean goodbye for now, because she'd be seeing them again soon onstage- whether she wins or not is up in the air, but if the rumor about the runner-up being given Becky's track is true, it makes sense.
Speaking of which, seeing as how Bailey's strongest suit is clearly her dancing, her being the runner-up and placed in Becky's track actually makes a lot of sense. She'll get to do a lot of dancing in that track. Updated On: 7/14/08 at 11:28 PM
Here is something I have noticed when I watch the full performances on MTV's site. For the past three weeks when I watch Autumn's full performance, about half way through I find myself thinking of other things, or looking at ads on the page. She totally loses my attention. Even if the other girls don't sing as well, they seem to keep me watching.
I can't believe they cut Lauren. I thought she did great, and I don't think she looks that much younger than the rest. I was also suprised at how well Bailey did. Updated On: 7/14/08 at 11:35 PM
Rhiannon has to go. If she doesn't I think I will be so mad I won't watch the finale. Great actress, great with comedy, but she was so out of breath at the end I could barely stand to watch.
I really can't fathom why they sent home Lauren NOW. If she was too young, why couldn't they have realized that before? I feel like if she sang tonight like she did in the "she threw us under a bus" episode, she wouldn't have been sent home.
Autumn, without a doubt, turned me off in this episode, and I only found her improv good. The rest, I really didn't enjoy.
Aside from Rhiannon being out-winded, I thought she was extremely enjoyable. If she had the stamina, I would love to see her win.
I know everyone is kind of letting Rhiannon be "thrown under the bus" but i really don't think she should be let go of so lightly. She may not have the best voice but she is irresistable and hard not to watch. Also there have been so many great singers let go in this competition for people who seem to have "it". So it would make perfect sense for the winner to win because of this. I also completely agree with everyone about the autumn thing. She was my fave until tonight and her "tude" problem. Im totally routing for a rhiannon bailey finale now.
It's not as if Rhiannon's voice is just not as good as the others, though...her voice is PAINFUL to listen to at times. There's no way they're putting her on Broadway with that voice.
She's a very talented comedienne, but she will NOT be able to sing, dance, and act the role of Elle Woods 8 times a week. No way.
I'm still loving Autumn, despite all the comments that she made. Compared to the two other remaining, I think she's the only one who is going to be capable of holding her own. I think it's sort of stupid how people are rooting for a Rhiannon and Bailey finale now due to this episode. I think some of you forget that this is MTV. It's the typical editing-the-episode-for-drama-and-speculation. There were plenty of comments by the others girls that had the same "catty" attitude. So, I'm still rooting for Autumn. :)
I don't even think she could handle Margot since it's an Elle cover track. Without that, I'd say she would be a really adorable Margot as there is really not a lot of singing but I just watched the full performances and her dancing seemed really sloppy and loose.
Most of the other female roles in that show that are less demanding (i.e. not really focusing on vocals) have little to do in the show.
regarding any of them being 'winded' and out of breath...didnt they tape this..when...back in March? so wouldnt there be plenty of time to address that and get in shape by july?
Legally Blonde (LB & Bailey) * Hairspray * Spring Awakening * Rent * Little Mermaid * Wicked(BW & the tour) * Lion King * Chorus Line
Personality wise - I love Rhiannon. She just seems like such a sweet and sincere girl. But her vocal chops are just not up to par. I think, like some of the users said, that if she was put in a less demanding role, she will flourish. :)
Oh, I think Lauren will be great if she really does get the tour. I'd love to see her Elle if she gets to go on.
While she's not my favorite I can clearly see Natalie in the most roles on broadway. I think she'd be a great Bebe in ACL, Nessa in Wicked, Anna/Thea in Spring Awakening, pretty much any Delta Nu in LB or Penny in Hairspray.
Right from the first audition, I thought Rhiannon would be an excellent Margot. I never really wanted Bailey to win, but I'd rather her win at this point. Only because I don't think Rhiannon is capable. I think that Autumn is incredibly talented, but I don't see her as an Elle.
i really really want autumn to get it but i'm pretty sure it'll end up being Bailey because they've always loved her and have hardly said anything negative to her while Autumn is some how criticized every week even though sometimes I disagree
