Lauren's 18, she'll be just fine. Autumn on the other hand is awfully bitter for someone barely 30 years old. I'm not going to waste any time watching full performances but can someone explain all the hype surrounding Autumn's voice? She sounds like Maria Von Trapp at best trying to sing bad pop songs. Whats so great about her voice?
She's 28, she's been in the city for a while, she's slogged through the audition mill, been told "no" more times than "yes", and has experienced the life of a performer in NYC. You're never guaranteed another show, you watch the politics, you get your heart broken time and time again.
But I still don't know how or why that makes her a better or more deserving choice for Elle Woods than the other girls. No one has explained how living the life of a NY actress longer than the other girls means she'll be a better Elle Woods than the other girls. Updated On: 7/15/08 at 10:06 AM
I too was annoyed with Autumn's entitlement comments last night. I think she needs to take a step back and realize she is on a reality show. I don't think reality show casting fits into the category of "I deserve this" in most people's eyes, no matter how talented you are.
No matter who wins and how good they are, they will probably get bad reviews because of the whole reality show stigma.
Adam, I completely agree with your comments. It DOESN'T make her more qualified, or talented, or entitled. She does, however, have a better take on the realities of someone in NYC pursuing a career in theatre than the other three girls.
I watched this for the 1st time all the way through last night. (I tried watching the second episode but just couldn't get through it). I really don't think any of them should be Elle. I suspect that with rehearsal's whoever wins would get better. So I watched the actual show (The MTV broadcast)after The Search show, and LBB's performance, and none of these girls seem to be anywhere near as good. I sat wondering if the "auditions" they go through are like actual auditions actors go through for roles in a Broadway show. I haven't had a chance to read this entire thread so my question may already be answered. Also, I just didn't think they had the personalities of Broadway performers. (If that makes any sense) I will say that I am going to watch this until the end now just to see what happens. (One or 2 more episodes?) And now I wish I could get to NYC to see LBB before she leaves. I watched the tape of the show about 3 times since the broadcast and she really deserved the nomination. And whoever wins better be able to work that staircase like LBB in the song What You Want! Just my thoughts.

Real Broadway auditions don't last this long. Also, Equity would have a fit if they heard of actors being asked to dance on a cobblestone street in heels as part of their audition.
I'm not trying to be rude at all but I'm tired of people trying to figure out what Lauren is going to be doing after this or what they "think" she is going to do or what role she is performing. Let's just wait for an official announcement and then we will all know for sure.
P.S. I would love her to be in the national tour because I would definitely want to see her but we don't know what she's doing so let's just wait and find out.

Oh man, I remember maxi-fords. Yikes. Like I said, Autumn should learn to do at least a simple tap combination if she really wants to be on Broadway.
Lauren's problem is that she is 18, but she doesn't look it. She looks younger. I do hope that she'll go back to school, train her abilities more, and emerge completely awesome.
Btw, the song is called "What You Want." And, sorry, but I don't think that LBB really set the bar that high, tbh.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!
I am saying that Lauren announced this herself. I wouldn't post it if I didn't know it came from a reliable source. I would say the performer herself is quite reliable.
Amazon has the single preview! And to me it sounds like AUTUMN!!!!!!!!!!!

Some elements are the same. At certain callback stages you're being given songs to sing, a scenes to read from the show. But you certainly don't get all this training and help from the people who are in the show, or involved with the show in some way. You're usually not performing against every member in the cast. You don't get costumes to wear and props to use, or sets to perform on. You won't get feedback on your performance, unless you have an agent, and you call your agent and ask them. You sure as hell don't get to go back to a beautifly furnished loft in NYC. Most performers are taking off from their survival job for a few hours to audition, go back to their survival job, and head to a studio apartment in Astoria, Queens having no idea if you got the job or not. This reality show is practicly an audition in heaven
I'm in the city today and just bumped into an ex who's part of the current cast of LEGALLY BLONDE and he informed me who won. They've been in rehearsals for weeks with her. That's all he said.
At least I learned this NOW instead of weeks ago when there were so many girls still in the running. Next week's finale' will be a thrill to watch now, even with the spoiled ending.
Hi all, I'm not sure if anyone posted this or not, but I have Lauren as a "friend" on facebook and she posted that she will be the Elle/Margot Understudy on the National Tour. Is that Becky Gulsvig's track? I wasn't sure...So pretty exciting for her, nonetheless! Also, I listened to that Amazon clip and I think it is Bailey. How did they let that get out?? Also, it seems so fixed up and corrected!! I can't imagine her sounding like that in real life!
I was watching the full performances and I was a little disappointed in Bailey's performance. When Elle sings "How about love?" right after the hardcore dance break, you can hear Bailey's voice change a little bit and she's audibly struggling with catching her breath. I'm a fan of Autumn's, and even though she's not a dancer, I was really impressed with how cutesy she was during the number. That, to me, proved she could play sorority girl Elle AND law school Elle. Becky understudied Margot too. That makes more sense if Rhiannon is full time Margot because the actor in Becky's track tends to go on as Elle more. It does concern me if she does understudy Elle since it's pretty clear that at this point, Rhiannon could not make it as Elle throughout the whole show.
Picking through this thread, I am reading that the contestants themselves are posting the outcome. One would think that they would have had to sign something that stopped them from doing that before the tv show's finale aired.
