I've seen it 3 times and one quarter because my friend that I was with cut her toe open when we were eating before the show. She decided to go to the show, but the toe started bleeding and it was hurting so bad that we had to leave. She ended up having to get about 5 stitches. We left right after Sodomy.
I'm a professional. Whenever something goes wrong on stage, I know how to handle it so no one ever remembers. I flash my %#$&.
"Jayne just sat there while Gina flailed around the stage like an idiot."
Shrek - 5 times [and counting] Young Frankenstein - 3 times [in two days, it was amazing!]
My goal is to some day at least get into double digits with a show. I'm excited that I'm half way there with Shrek. I would love to eventually see a show 100 times or more. :)
Not sure how many times I actually saw Les Miz, BUT I saw it THREE times while it was at the Kennedy Center in DC before it ever got to Broadway!!
First time there was opening night and the turntable stopped working! They kept going, but promised to give a ticket to another one of the shows. Then I took a friend yet again before it left for New York....so three times in DC!
I have to say that I enjoyed it much MORE at the Kennedy Center than I did in any other theatre...
hairspray - 8x gypsy (lupone) - 6x rent - 5x the wedding singer, 42nd street - 4x the drowsy chaperone, cry baby, thoroughly modern millie, wicked - 3x les mis, next to normal, spelling bee, spamalot, sweet charity, little women -2x
Sans shows I've worked on I'm proud to say I've never seen a show more than twice (and that's only a handful; Wicked, Spelling Bee, Young Frankenstein, a local production of Night Music). No need to see something a billion times.
I take that back. I have seen Chicago three times, but with three very different casts (which was like seeing new productions because of the variety of styles brought to the table).
I'm pretty sure I saw Rent 10 or so times over its entire run.
7 times for Lupone's Gypsy.
6 times for Hair.
I have to say that I find the repeat viewers of Billy Elliot most interesting. With the show sold out far in advance, do you usually have tickets to several performances booked at the same time?
RENT- 15 times (8 Broadway, 2 Non-Eq Tour, 4 2009 tour, 1 School Edition) Wicked- 8 times (7 Broadway, 1 Chicago) In The Heights- 6 times Spring Awakening- 6 times (2 Broadway, 4 tour) Legally Blonde- 5 times (2 Broadway, 3 Tour) Next To Normal- 5 times (3 Arena, 2 Broadway)
Phantom: 22 times (NY, US Tour, Germany, Belgium and London) Les Mis: 28 times (mostly London, 2 in NY)
I haven't seen either of them in over 2 years, so I guess I'm over those addictions. :)
Young Frankenstein: 11 times Elisabeth: 6 times (Germany) Jersey Boys: 6 times (3 in NY, 3 in London) Beauty & The Beast: 4 times (regional) In The Heights: 3 times
