Posted: 9/4/12 at 4:01pmA lot can happen between now and August 2013. I really didn't think this would come to Broadway. I can say I am somewhat surprised.

Posted: 9/4/12 at 4:05pmIt was a complete failure in London (critically and financially). Unfortunately it sounds like another desperate project by desperate producers with no imagination.

Posted: 9/4/12 at 4:46pmFirst of all let's not forget that this is the same producing team that brought us Leap of Faith. Second of all, the producers of this show have spent a lot of money, probably millions, to develop the show, and continue development post-London. By bringing it to Broadway, at the very least, they have a chance to get there developmental funds back since they are normally rolled into the Broadway capitalization, as well as a significant amount of money in producing fees. The money is why they are taking a chance.

A year to go. Anything could happen. The show did announce Broadway for this season. If the tour flops, I doubt it will come in. But who knows....
London production was awful, one of my worst nights in a theatre.

Posted: 9/4/12 at 6:25pmThe show was not a critical failure in London, it recieved mixed reviews. Whilst it could not find a London audience it was a HUGE success on its pre West End tour and played to packed houses and very good reviews. Whilst not life changing it does what it sets out to do very well

Posted: 9/4/12 at 6:29pmThe article does say that the production is being substantially revised for Broadway, but recently it seems like shows that undergo massive changes and open cold on Broadway end up being an even bigger mess than they were before.

It must be exhausting to try to defend every piece of West End crapola that comes to Broadway and ends up flopping either way.

Posted: 9/5/12 at 5:56amSuch as what Blaxx, I really enjoyed Ghost and thought Flashdance was fun, that's about it. Not the biggest fan of Matilda and don't like BIlly Elliot ( great book, terrible score) so what else Blaxx?

I saw Flashdance in London and also agree that it was alot of fun. When they performed some of the popular songs from the movie, it brought a smile to my face. I don't think I would see the Broadway version but would have if I hadn't seen the London production. If you liked the movie, then you'll enjoy the stage production.

Posted: 9/5/12 at 8:23amIt's terrible, it's so terrible. It's more crap than Ghost, honest. I don't even know how I managed to sit through it. Maybe this is your karma for trying to send us Memphis?!

Posted: 9/5/12 at 8:57amI wish this well. I hope the changes they have made are actually *good* changes... because given the source material, this could be GREAT.

It wasnt packed on tour when I saw it in bristol, half empty house on a weekend.
Its fluff but not particularly interesting fluff, a couple of fun numbers, I felt no need to see it in the west end.
