Updated my predictions on the first page with my final guesses. I was really tempted to drop Mincemeat from the Best Musical category and put in Just in Time or Real Women Have Curves but I let it be. We'll see...

One thing I don't understand.  I don't see Gypsy until mid-June, so I have no personal opinion.  Everyone seems to be predicting that George C Wolfe will be nominated for director, even though the critics did not admire his direction overall, and members of this board shredded it.  Is it simply because you think he will get nominated because it is Gypsy or because he will get it because he is a theatre icon or because you think the nominees will actually believe they will have a revisionist view of original pinions.

I am particularly surprised because there were so many VERY well reviewed musicals whose directors will be overlooked because of his nomination.

That is why I think it'll happen. I don't think name checking happens as often at the Tonys as it does at the Emmys but I still think he's a big enough name in a big enough production to get nominated. But it wouldn't shock me if he misses due to the mixed reception to that production.
