Marcus Lovett came in as Bobby Strong and Jen Cody as Little Becky Two Shoes in the last few weeks of the Off-Broadway run.

Marcus Lovett? Isn't he 20 years older than Hunter Foster?

Update: did my own research; he's only 5 years older than Foster; Lovett is younger and Foster is much older than I thought....

He's four years older than Hunter. He was in his mid 30s at the time.

I think we had five performances during the festival somewhere between August 15 and 25. I don't remember the exact dates. We also were extended for an additional 4 performances right after the festival ended.

Last Friday night I saw Urinetown done at the high school down the block from me. The kids all were having a blast. The best moment was when two little kids of I'm guessing about 6 or 7 sitting in front of me, who seemed to be the younger siblings of the boy playing Bobby, got all excited by the "Don't be the bunny" number and they started dancing along in the audience like they were at The Wiggles or something. I'm sure that by the time they are high school aged they will be begging, "Please can't we do Urinetown this year!"
This show is going to live in people's hearts forever, just like maybe Grease does.

It's interesting to me that the "look" for Bobby Strong has gone from Hunter Foster to the guy from Ghost: The Musical. Nerdy to hunky?

Hunter Foster as Bobby Strong was more just clean-cut. Quirky, but clean cut and good. I think that's what's more important for the character.

More recent productions tend to go in the Bland Leading Man route. Because... well, that's what auditions.

Eh, I don't think it's "that's what auditions." It's thats who they allow to get seen for the role.
