Uplifting

Looking for a show to round out our New York trip the week after Christmas. Something joyful, uplifting... You know... Something that will be happy? Is that too much to ask during these times? Either way I have Tix for Moulin Rouge and Hadestown (yes I know it's a tragedy). We've seen Wicked, The Lion King, and Mormon on Tour so I think I'd prefer to catch something new.

My thoughts were Waitress (I know little to nothing about this show) or Dear Evan Hansen, but I know DEH deals with suicide so that's out... Maybe we just see Wicked again?

Dear Evan Hansen is not uplifting .
Go with Little Shop of Horrors. Fun and silly.

she/her . “everything’s legal in new jersey”

If you're looking for joy and uplifting, I would definitely count Dear Evan Hansen out. I would recommend Come From Away.

DEAR EVAN HANSEN deals with mental illness and suicide. Where did you assume it’s uplifting but oddly being misinterpreted now?

Waitress is more fun between the two, even though it deals with physical abuse. DEH is not uplifting. Brilliant but NOT a happy show.

Tops for Joy: Six, Freestyle Love Supreme, Little Shop of Horrors

Waitress is def worth seeing if you haven’t seen yet too.

Flying over Sunset at Lincoln Center is an unknown quantity but it’s a new musical that might interest you too

Come from Away popped in my mind too - it SOUNDS like a downer (and some bits certainly are) but overall it's about the beautiful side of humanity.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Thirding Come From Away. You will walk out of the theater feeling alive and optimistic about humanity.

How about The Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes?

Scheduled at least through December.
