There is definately something going on where it is not completely fair, and I agree some people are finding a way to cheat. I have 139, and I know they are legit cause i sent messages to all of my freiends and facebook and my mom to everyone she knows...Why do some people still have more then one video up, and why are there still international There is one who is over 1000 so should those people be taken down?

Why am I trying so hard to fit in...When I was born to stand out!
I am extremely confused, is voting once or can we vote daily for our choice. I hope it is only once because it gets crazy on a daily basis and seems to skew the results. I have seen some contestants go up in votes by 100's in just one minute, whats up with that? Finally does the winner need to have some semblance of talent or can the person with the worst voice and no business entering actually win this?
I actually think the voting wasn't a very good idea either. Either way, when you're auditioning, it doesn't matter what everyone else thinks, it matters what the judges think. This is just like a cheating/popularity contest.
About not being able to see people in their videos, I for one have a broken camera and had no other choice but to edit my voice in to a movie clip. Just because you can't see my face doesn't mean i didn't work just as hard to try and make everything as good as possible, which i did.
but anyway, it's probably too late to change the judging policy of this contest and it's probably far too late for me to ever dream of winning, but i guess you never know.
good luck to everyone and i hope the person who wins deserves it.
That's just how contests like this work, unfortunately. I haven't learned my lesson to stop entering them because I am such a stupid optomistic dreamer lol. Unless this is so well advertised that there are hundreds of thousands/millions of hits/viewers/voters that have NOTHING to do with the contestants, this type of voting never works right. And even with that, they should have either random entries appear for the people coming to vote or rotate the entries so that they all get a chance to be on the first page. Logically, anyone coming to visit this site who isn't just here to vote for a specific person, is NOT going to probably go through page after page... so the people on the first page have the greatest chance of getting random visitor votes.
Contests like these are usually about A) How many people you know and/or B) Finding a way around the voting system.. moreso than what the public actually thinks about their talent. I still think that by using an annonymous proxy server to mask your IP, people are getting around the system. I could do that too because I know how, but I won't stoop that low.. I couldn't enjoy my prize knowing that I had done that. And in all fairness, it may not be the contestants themselves.. it could be a fan or family member. And even if there wasn't cheating (which I highly doubt), it still becomes a popularity contest of how many people you know or how good your are at begging.. bottom line.. contests like these are always better off being judged by actual judges.
As far as the voting goes...you have to put yourself out there! I posted this event on facebook and myspace...and my friends have been re-posting it which has been opening up my network to hundreds of other people! So yeah, be a pest if you have to with your networking
I have two videos up by mistake. I was having computer problems and the first time I submitted the video I didn't think it worked so I tried again..and now I have two entries! I'm telling everyone to vote for the first video so my votes aren't split though.
Anyway, good luck to everyone and check out my video and vote if you can! Thanks!
I just have to say... I think the fact that there is someone with over 5,000 votes is VERY sketchy to me. Especially because there are singers who are better... and I'm not saying that they're bad, but I don't really think that they deserve over 5,000 votes.
On another note, I kind of regret not singing Part of Your World now... because I sing that song really well... and my video definitely doesn't display my voice, which kind of sucks. Oh well, I'm definitely not going to win now... it's sad!
Craig.. they may not indicate that yet, but I believe that is because this contest is only a day and a half old. As time goes by and there are more visitors who are coming in to vote, it becomes more of a factor. The rush for the first couple of days is going to be people who contestants themselves have asked to come in and vote. As more annonymous voters come trickling in, I think the first page thing does become a factor. It can't help but become a factor, as I don't know anyone who would listen through that many pages of entries to cast their votes. A randomized list would just be better or a random "face off" system like the one Bix.com uses... not a perfect system by any means (as none are), but works a little more fairly.
And by the way, I'm not trying to be argumentative, nor am I angry in the least.. I'd just really like to see contests like this run more smoothly.. Not just for my benefit (as I know have no chance of winning this) but for all the others involved..
I totally agree with everything said about the first page theory... people who have no connection to the contest really aren't going to have the patience to go through 7 pages of people to find their favorite...so that means people on the 7th page (me ) are going to be at a HUGE disadvantage, unfortunately
But on a good note, thank you Craig for keeping us up to date on everything that is going on and communicating on our concerns :) Very helpful and professional of you!
Elisha, I voted for you,Charissa and Stephanie. You 3 are the best and there are others that are very good but this contest has gotten away from what it really should be which is a talent contest not just a popularity and or a how much can I try to get away with contest. My first choice was Stephanie since she really did a great job of acting out the part and her vocals are spot on. It should be voted on by a panel of judges and the winner should have to at least be able to carry a tune as you three clearly can, best of luck. Jesus
Craig, I still don't know if we can vote once per day or if it's only one time for as many contestants as I want to vote for. Although it seems counter productive to place votes for multiple choices since you are defeating the idea of picking your favorite. I find it very hard to believe that anyone can legitamately go from 1000 votes at the start of today to over 5000 as of now. I watched the totals onn some go up by 1000 votes in just minutes, this is causing a lot of concern by your faithful and I believe the auditing should expose these people sooner rather than later.
aww.. thanks so much Jesus! Your support definitely means so much to me, as i'm sure it does to those other talented ladies. No matter what happens in this, i'm truly grateful for your kindness!
The recording session is delayed (according to Craig's other post in the banner thread)....I was actually kinda expecting the strike might also effect this!
It's ok though, I had a back up cheer me up plan for that weekend when I lost :) haha...looks like my friends are taking me to see Bare's premiere in Chicago with an opening night reception! FUN!
But hopefully the recording date isn't TOO late...early Jan would be good!
and all that I could do because of you was talk of love...

ATTENTION FANS: I will be played by James Barbour in the upcoming musical, "BroadwayWorld: The Musical."
well, I sent out an email to my friends asking that they not spam vote for me. I hope that with the audit they will just deduct any multiple spam votes, but allow you to keep your other votes, as many here are most likely not to blame for any cheating and shouldn't be called out or disqualified when others voting is out of our hands. I did advertise a lot. My friend made a youtube video asking his 900+ subscribers to vote for me, which a lot of them did. I also made my own banner (see above) that was sent to a lot of people, including 700+ actors/tech people and who are part of our community theatre.
