Next can we have musicals about Bobby’s 36th Birthday and one about Sally after she leaves, titled “It IS Tomorrow”?
I have a better title:
WEST SIDE STORY II: MARIA'S REVENGE
WEST SIDE STORY: I CAN KILL, 2.

I can solve the problem: she enters an Austrian convent!!!!
If Annie, Birdie, Miss Mona and the Phantom can run out on stage a second time why not Maria?

I guess there wasn’t still one bullet left for her after all.

Sure Maria can join that string of flops I guess.

I read the subject line too quickly and thought Maria would be working as a longshoreman at a wharf.

I think it’s a great idea. If a story about the characters in the beloved classic, “The Wizard of Oz” which takes place mostly outside the timeline of that story can become a smash hit, then I can’t see why this couldn’t work. A Doll’s House, Part 2 is also an example of how classic characters can be used to tell another story.
I’m going to write a sequel to Grey Gardens about Little Edie’s life in Florida and call it Bal Harbour.

That doesn’t match the Long Wharf’s prior press release about the show…

Probably, but to just pretend they never made those statements is bonkers.
I’m very confused. The writer is the one quoted directly- in multiple places- saying this work is derivative of West Side Story.

Exactly. They’re just pretending it was never said even though it’s right there in black and white. Insane.

I’d be there every night.

I love how people cite Annie Warbucks and Bring Back Birdie as justifications for stuff like this existing-
Ya know, cause people LOVE ANNIE WARBUCKS AND BRING BACK BIRDIE. WHAT classics.
