Ha, to each his/her own. Jessica Hecht was hands down my least favorite thing about Fiddler, to the point that she really kind of ruined the whole thing for me. But hey, I'm not a Tony voter.
I saw American Psycho last night, and I could get behind a Helene Yorke nomination. Still can't decide if I liked the show or not, haha, but she played her part really well. I don't see Waitress for a few weeks, but I've loved Keala Settle in the past, and knowing the role from the movie I could absolutely see that nomination.
Still have my fingers crossed for Joaquina, though. :) Smaller parts have been awarded. Surely she had more to do than Andrea Martin in Pippin!
I highly doubt Carmello has a chance with how competitive Featured Actress in a Musical is this year (and most years, actually). But the nominating committee often likes to throw a few surprises. The OCC reminded me of the fact Andrea Burns, who got recognized alongside Carmello, is also in contention this year. It seems like one of those years when the nomination itself will be the award, it's just a very competitive category with many wonderful performances in the running for the nod.

I feel like you could say that for almost any category this year! Very talented people who might have won in the past are inevitably going to be shut out of nominations altogether. But hey, it's a hell of a great problem for Broadway to have.
Do we think Sierra Bogges has any chance of a Featured Actress nomination? I just saw "School of Rock" and felt she nailed the comedy, and you can't deny her voice. It may just not be as special of a role as some others.
I agree, I don't think it's Sierra's year, unfortunately. I think the last slot is between Heléne, Jennifer (Simard), Keala, and Krysta. They're all giving (or gave, for Krysta) amazing performances, performances of their carer, if I'm being honest. We'll obviously know more of what we're looking at as soon as the Drama Desks are announced.
They/them.
"Get up the nerve to be all you deserve to be."
I think JHud, Renee Elise, and Jane Krakowski are the only real locks for featured actress. Danielle Brooks probably gets a slot as well, and then either Helene Yorke or Jen Sinard gets the last spot.
Who do you guys think gets left out of best actor? Lin Manuel, Leslie Odom and Danny Burstein are all safe bets, but who of Alex Brightman, Ben Walker, and Zachary Levi doesn't get a nod?
^I could see Benjamin Walker getting left out due to the mixed reception surrounding American Psycho. But if he does get in, I think he could probably bump out Zachary Levi (unless there ends up being a tie which would lead to all six of those men getting nominated).

I'm not sure how much of a chance Krysta Rodriguez has at this point. Spring Awakening came earlier in the season and ended its limited run back in January. Plus, I don't remember hearing anyone beyond these boards talking about her performance the most.

(my biggest "snub" is that I am thinking Audra won't get a nomination; my thoughts are there are 7 strong potential nominees, she is only going to be with the show for 6 weeks, and she has won 6 Tonys already - we'll see. It's my big out on a limb prediction...)
Shuffle Along isn't eligible for score- it's all classics/songs from the original repurposed.
I doubt Audra gets snubbed- the show's kind of a mess but she's wonderful. I actually think Philippa Soo will get snubbed because she's not really in a leading role, leaving Audra, Jessie, Cynthia, Laura and Carmen.
This might be too big a dream, but I'd love Michael Arden to be nominated for Best Director. Also, what about Ben Walker? I think he could get in over Levi, or even Lin-Manuel. And Chris Fitzgerald, for Waitress? He's absolutely fantastic!
