I'm seeing them on Wednesday. I haven't been back to the show since the reunion, and I feel like it's time. I still don't quite feel like it's real yet, though. I've been wanting this for so long, but it's always been one of those things you'd love to see but KNOW will never, ever happen. (Well, think you know, anyway.) And yet here we are. I can't believe it.

The Mimi standby is fantastic, so I'd tell you that you don't need to worry, but I know what it's like to want to see a new cast member in particular.
I'm braving the inevitably crazy crowd and going tonight. I'm past the point of caring how sad or desperate their return looks and honestly just can't wait to see them together on stage. At the end of the day, it's easier to sit back and enjoy something than to endlessly criticize.

If they were too old for the movie, they are way too old a few years later to be on stage in these roles. Carol Channing they ain't but I guess the Rent heads will flock to the show and that's what it's all about even though it seems so wrong.

I am unbelievably excited to see them. I am seeing the show on Wednesday. Desperate and old as they may be, it's a great chance for those of us who never got to see the original cast to get a glimpse of it.

jimnysf, where have you been to complain about everyone who has been a Rent cast member at their ages or even older? I think the age issue is a valid concern, but if you're going to complain about the ages of Rent cast members, don't do it selectively.

I must have missed the other old agers but I don't think they got as much publicity as this is getting. I don't see it helping sell out the show since there are still discounts being offered during their run. I think "Rent" is winding down and this move seems desperate for both the producers and the two actors returning to the show at this stage of their lives. The show is about "young" people. They, like me, were young once. They are too old now but go enjoy them if you want. I'm voicing my opinion which is still allowed in the USA, or at least I think it is.

Are you a Bush supporter/worker Miss Tink? They don't like to hear negative or dissenting opinions either. As I said, this is still the USA so all opinions are allowed as much as some of you wish they were not. If you post something here or anywhere, others with a different opinion are allowed to post as well.

I think part of the problem is that recent cast members HAVE been about the same age, but their ages hasn't been broadcast all over the place; case in point, Tim Howar is OLDER than Adam. People don't know about it, so they don't complain, whereas if you're informed, it's almost impossible not to have an idea of how old OBC members are.

mmhmmm, yeah. I never said anything about not having the right to express an opinion. I just don't understand why people on this board can't have somewhat respect for each other and let people enjoy things. As soon as something positive is posted about ANYTHING, someone comes and knocks it down. Most of the time, it is just the person just typing to be seen. Sometimes the person has a valid point, but come on. It's really sad.

Life is full of sadness and, as I said, not everyone will agree with your opinion so you should expect dissenting view points to be posted. That's the way life is. If you want a rosy posy thread, I am sure there is an Adam or Rent board someplace online where 100% of the posters will all be positive.
