thats a good question but not the same as mine...which was Since I haven't seen any broadway shows, what do you recommend for my first time? do you guys have any recommendations(spelling) since he's not answering
Recommendations? I'd say Wicked, Little Shop of Horrors (My brother said it was good), and, obviously Rent. Oh, and Chicago. It's a tad overrated but still enjoyable.
"We can't go in the fire swamp! We'll never survive!"
" Nonsense. You're only saying that because no one ever has."
I recommend whatever the hell you want. What is your favorite show? Go see it. (unless it's Wicked. If it is Wicked plan like 3 years in advance)
I actually recommend Avenue Q. I think its hilarious. but I believe I heard its leaveing broadway at the end of this month.
You must think I'm still sixteen.
I dropped out of high school for a reason.
And I don't care if you're pretty. I'm not admitting you are right.
My soul is not a stage.
I won't pretend I'm anything I'm not
darn about avenue Q I htink I wanted to see that one...but thanks for the recommendations and if you don't want to search the web then just do a search under RENTLuvr and if you scroll through you should find it sometime:)
Fan: Oh my god! You're, like, standing right there and, like, looking right at me and, like, oh my god!
Anthony Rapp: Yes, that's a pretty accurate discription of reality.
Avenue Q is awesome!!! But my first show was RENT, and it definately was amazing. Don't dismiss it just because you've seen the movie. It's not the same thing.
Still trying to figure out how to get Anthony to Chicago... I can't believe he doesn't have a location booked in Chicago... he loves it out here. Hmh. Sadness. I have to figure out how to get in contact with him.

I know... I just have the patience of... ok I don't know. I just don't have a lot of patience. But I am waiting the best I can. I just like Anthony too much to pass up such a cool opportunity.

That's bizarre. It can't hurt to drop him a PM or an e-mail, but there's GOT to be at least a general contact on their website. I would take another look.
PM him, write to the publisher, badger your local Barnes & Noble (or other bookstore, but I'm biased since I work there). I'm going back to search through all these posts, I've been gone so long! (stupid dial-up), but I'm in the Chicago area too and I may be able to talk to my manager to see if she would know better than I how to book him for a signing in our store.... :) yay connections! even if they aren't very good. heh.
Yeah, I don't think y'all in Chicago have anything to worry about. It's a pretty safe bet that if he doesn't go there, he'll go somewhere so close you could just about spit off your porch and hit him in the eye.
...don't do that, though. It would be rude. And spit has cooties.
So I sent Simon and Schuster a feedback thingy... let's hope it works!
And just for kicks I sent Anthony a heartfelt pm - about the book signing and about us wanting him back on the boards (Without You turned out to be an apropos title for both subjects). Let's hope something works!
