"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
Thanks so much Jordan and all! I was able to attend tonight by presenting my own test. And yes, you can present the proof of vaccination or the test.
Jordan you were right, no show is worth those prices. I was lucky to get an amazing seat for 100£
I loved the illusion of going underground, but I was sad that the main lobby/bar were so well lit and undressed. That and the ushers with no costume or character broke the illusion for me hardcore, what was with the crumbled gold paper decoration? While going downstairs was cool, I think that it could easily open on Broadway without the gimmick.
I must have seen the Mendes version a dozen times throughout the decades and I appreciated a new concept behind the piece, I just thought the cabaret numbers could have been much more graphic. It felt that the whole thing was afraid of taking it further, which would've elevated the piece and make it much stronger.
Listen, I don't take my clothes off for anyone, even if it is "artistic". - JANICE
Interesting. For those wondering the opening shots are the actual theatre and what it looks like to enter etc. as part of the 'immersion'.

Oh, it looks so damn good! Just keeping my fingers crossed for it to come to New York!
The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince
Hi All, I'm buying tickets for an upcoming trip to London and am attempting to buy table tickets for Cabaret. Is there a way to purchase a single ticket? I'm going by myself so I'd rather not have to buy two tickets. Or if someone can recommend the best place to sit I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
I've sat in two different areas of the Playhouse Theatre. The first time was in the existing stalls just behind the table seats. It is a great seat but was more expensive but if you're ok with that, go for it. If you are looking for a cheaper seat, I sat in the last row of the smaller mezzanine (stage side) and did not miss a moment. It was so close that I actually was fine sitting in that area. Hope that helps! You're gonna enjoy the London production!
