It isn't victim shaming, it's common sense. If you share a pic of yourself, it almost surely will get shared. I've shared naked pics of myself, I'm guessing many of us have. The first thing you realize when you send such a pic is that you no longer have control of the image. You've given up your control of the image by giving it away. You've got to own that. I do.

The guy's a creep for doing this. I've never said he was a great guy. But it isn't any kind of assault. The women made a bad decision, he made a bad decision, but nothing was hurt other than egos unless you're being very melodramatic.

People don’t send pictures like that to others, believing that they will get shared. ESPECIALLY without consent. That is disgusting. There are laws about this sort of thing.

Embracing your sexuality isn't a 'bad decision'. People should be able to share themselves how they choose consensually without the fear of being targeted by a group of people such as the men involved in this case. What the women here did they did in the comfort of their own bodies, not knowing that the men they were sharing their bodies with had ulterior motives. Trying to pass the blame on them because of "common sense" doesn't pick away that this is disgusting behavior and should be considered criminal. If you can acknowledge he was a creep then you can respect other people's disgust in this and stop accusing others of being 'melodramatic'. Assault doesn't always come in physical forms, especially in the digital age.

At the moment 41 states have laws on revenge porn, with New York eyeing to make it illegal by next year which you can read about in the above link. I hope you learn the definition of consent and how it applies to people in these scenarios and the importance of not shaming people for how they choose to share their bodies in private.

The videos and photos were taken without her consent or knowledge. But, yes, keep calling yourself a good man. Anyone who has to repeatedly state that clearly is not.

I am a good man. If the pictures and videos were taken without her consent, that's an entirely different story. What I read in the Times did not mention that.

If she didn't agree to the pictures or videos being taken, that's an entirely different situation. And, yes, a legally actionable one. What I'd read led me to think the pictures/videos were given/allowed to be taken freely. If I'm wrong about the facts, I own that I'm wrong. But it's a genuine misunderstanding on my part, not a defense of assault (it's still not assault, but it's still illegal and morally reprehensible).

The confusion is because Chase Findlay was the person who shared non-consensual photos and videos, not Ramasar. Findlay's alleged offense is significantly more serious than Ramasar's.
