Curious what you all are looking forward to most.
My short list is:
Here Lies Love
I Can Get It For You Wholesale
The new Encores season (and the inevitable speculation about which production will transfer)
Chess (if the rumored production happens)
Gatsby at A.R.T.
Full disclosure - I’ve already seen Merrily downtown, and Cabaret in the West End, so they didn’t make the list.
Putting this out there to the Theater Gods - can be have a big, belly-laughing comedy, a Full Monty revival and a quick transfer of the new West End Crazy for You? A person can dream, no?…

- Merrily - missed it earlier, excited to see it finally
- Hell’s Kitchen at the Public
- The Cottages intrigued me
That’s honestly it. So far I’m less excited about this new season that anyone in the last servers years. We saw 22 shows this last past season so maybe it is God’s way of rebuilding our savings accounts.
Looking the most forward to Merrily We Roll Along, Here We Are and Chess
Honestly, not a lot of the announced shows excite me that much. This last season (2022-2023) was just such a great season, but so far nothing I'm *REALLY* excited about coming up. I'm sure more shows will announce, though. And, quite frankly, the new season is not off to great start between Grey House and Once Upon A One More Time - LOL.

Truthfully I am excited for Merrily. I'm curious about Back To The Future, but I want to wait and see what their lottery/rush options are before I spend $90+ on a ticket.
Definitely also curious/excited for The Cottage, Prayer for The French Republic, several Public Theater shows.
Last season there were more theatres readily available, so quite a few new shows had already announced by this time for the fall. This season there are producers eagerly waiting for theatres to become available, but none have the balls of someone like #@&!! ?÷[%++, who could go to a theatre owner & demand they kick out an underperforming show.
I suppose that's true. But, there are currently 6 theatres without an announced tenant (not counting the Wilson) + 2nd Stage and Lincoln Center haven't announced a Fall/Winter show + it's possible something could slip into CitS or the Golden after their tenants close + we could have some closures before the Fall.

Already booked Merrily, Harmony. Excited for Chess, Evita, The Wiz. As a supporter, will be seeing Hell's Kitchen at The Public. Thinking of seeing the Wholesale at CSC. Hoping for another strong year for plays. 2022-23 was a fantastic plays season. Booked a preview of The Shark Is Broken, just because it looks different and Jaws is my comfort movie which I re-watch at least once a year.

same....... you would think that if it was still on track to begin in September at the Shed, we'd hear about presales/onsales by now.

Merrily is good…but…temper your expectations.
My thoughts - regarding the production, not the material - Groff was very good, Mendez was good (though given to broad expressions and mannerisms to signal aspects of the character), and Radcliffe was…well, the least memorable of the trip to me. I thought the supporting roles were played/directed far too broadly. And the set? Ugh. An ugly white box. I doubt that will change.
Anyway - overall, I was glad I saw it at member prices downtown, but don’t feel compelled to rush back at the exorbitant Broadway prices. I suspect all the leads will be Tony nom’ed, with Groff a strong contender for the win.
Again, I recommend not to set your expectations too high (though with ticket prices this high, why wouldn’t you expect a lot?) and you should enjoy.

Merrily. Nothing else that is confirmed excites me. I am seeing Evita in Cambridge in about two weeks, so -- if it does come to NYC -- I will probably pass, since my out-of-towner status limits the number of shows I can see in NYC to about 15 or so. Of course, even that will depend on what actually arrives. Have to admit that I have zero interest in Here Lies Love...that David Byrne show at the Hudson was just awful to me, and doesn't incent me to spend time, money and a slot on HLL.
Pickings seem very sparse to me compared to most seasons. Usually by now /i would have tickets to 3 or 4 shows for my October trip. Only Merrily at the moment.

Seriously! Wasn't that scheduled for The Shed...? I think?

It is.
What Jordan is referring to is DETAILS, such as casting, about the show.
I have been incredibly fortunate to have already seen CABARET(West End), HERE LIES LOVE (Public) and MERRILY (NYTW) and BACK TO THE FUTURE (West End) so taking those off the list. I agree with earlier posters who stated not a ton of excitement so far for the upcoming season.

So I shouldn’t come to New York City in October? You folks are bumming me out. Sondheim’s death makes me a lot more cautious about Here We Are, and I’m sure tickets will be impossible anyway. Should I donate $10 to The Shed for a better chance at tickets? Everything about that show seems like a black box.
If we go late enough in October, I might be interested in Harmony in previews. And Merrily.
