I'm curious, she hasn't done a role on Broadway in years. She had a gorgeous voice and her acting was stellar. Her acting during the live versions of "Home" and "Pretty Funny" were just heartbreaking. I know she still does concerts with Scott Alan and Pasek & Paul, but no Broadway. Anyone know if she'll return?
I would recommend if you are curious to follow her on Twitter. Looks like she's doing some concerts and was recently in London. I believe she lives in either LA or Vegas, I forget where.

Thank you @Millie, @Liza. Looks like I have some catching up to do. Someone needs to get her on Show People soon.

The summer before last she premiered her original musical, "Dear, John Mayer" at the LA fringe. I get the feeling she is not too concerned with making her way back to the stage, previously stating that she prefers to sing her own music as opposed to someone elses. She released her 2nd album in February and its really stellar. She does many concerts weekly in LA and just traveled to London with Scott Alan as a featured guest at his concert at O2 and wound up throwing together a concert of her own within 2 days. She also recently announced that she had offered to start up an after school program at an LA school for Arts Education since it was cut from the curriculum. She wanted to have the program 1 day a week but was recently asked to expand the curriculum to 5 days a week, so she will be busy with that for the next year or so. Obviously, I'm a huge fan and I have no problem admitting that.
That's very cool! I love it when people find different ways to use their gifts. I know fans here would like her back in a show, but it sounds like she has other fulfilling projects going on.
I wouldn't be surprised if she never came back to Broadway and was as happy as anyone who ever did.
Good for her. I wish her great success.
@anmiller Thank you for the info. I'm kind of bummed that it seems like she will not return to the stage. But, I am happy that her music career is going well and she's been offered to teach to others. Did you get a chance to catch "Dear, John Mayer"?
For anyone that's interested, Shoshana is performing at the Cutting Room in NYC on October 13th. If anyone is going, I'd love to meet some BWW'ers.
And no, I, sadly, did not see "Dear John Mayer" but I asked her about it recently and she said they are trying to possibly do a small production on the east coast. Fingers crossed!
She sang the crap out of JRB's "Bridges of Madison County" score. I'm sure whoever is playing the part on Broadway is great too, but her voice is really incredible.

THIS!! I was just listening to her sing those songs, along with a song from "Honeymoon In Vegas." Shoshana and JRB are an excellent match.

Yeah, I had the privilege of hearing her sing those songs a few nights and her voice is just crazy. Sad she won't be in the actual show, but whatever.
BestBar12 - Kind of like Linda Eder who has not been back on Broadway since "Jekyll& Hyde".
We saw her tonite at the University of Illinois. Great show. She said that she's basically done with theatre performances and has other goals in life to accomplish.
She also said her audition piece back in the day was 16 Bars of "Who Will Love Me As I Am" with a pop riff, a belt and adding in a high soprano note.
A highlight for simple fun was her medley of roles she would never play (if she still did theatre) because she's a white jewish girl. She had the audience try to guess the show and song - but no one was able to accomplish the feat. I won't remember the songs correctly, and maybe not all in the medley, but what I remember are these shows: Ragtime (Sarah Brown Eyes and Make Them Hear You); Porgy & Bess (I Loves You Porgy); The Wiz (Be A Lion); Side Show (You Should Be Loved); Children of Eden (Spark of Creation); The Life (He's No Good); Aida; Tommy (Acid Queen; Rent (I'll Cover You).
When did she sing the material from Bridges of Madison County? Was she in the tryout run?

I heard her sing the material when she performed with Jason Robert Brown last year at 54 Below.
