This is SUCH a hard one! Picking just 5 from hundreds is so hard!!!!

I think maybe I have to say:

1. 1. Being Alive from Company
2. 2. Our Lady of the Underground from Hadestown
3. 3. Don't Rain on my Parade from Funny Girl
4. 4. Memory Song from A Strange Loop
5. 5. Satisfied from Hamilton

But there are seriously dozens that are nipping at the heels of all of them!

3. “I’m the Greatest Star,” Funny Girl (I’m as obsessed with “Don’t Rain on My Parade” as anybody, but “Star” is the definition of a perfect “I want” song!)

I needed to make two lists. I have an overall top five, but I also have five songs from specifically new productions this year:

OVERALL

1. "Circle of Life" from The Lion King
2. "Satisfied" from Hamilton
3. "Wait for Me" from Hadestown
4. "Somewhere in the Middle of Nowhere" from Come From Away
5. "Defying Gravity" from Wicked

NEW SONGS

1. "Being Alive" from Company
2. "Intermission Song" from A Strange Loop
3. "Let it Burn" from Paradise Square
4. "Memory Song" from A Strange Loop
5. "Marian the Librarian" from The Music Man

Some honourable mentions: "All I Ask of You" from Phantom of the Opera, "Hasa Diga Eebowai" from The Book of Mormon, "Words Fail" from Dear Evan Hansen, "Don't Rain on My Parade" from Funny Girl, and pretty much any of the numbers from the current Company revival (but "Side by Side by Side" stands out most to me)
