Someone said gotta dance in a thread a while back. I wonder if that's still the case. It's now called half time.

A dance heavy show would make sense there. The sightlines are really amazing, I was just over the moon even with my rear mezz seat during Shuffle Along.

I really, really hope Indecent takes a theater. And a small one.

Someone on ATC says Dear Evan Hansen is moving there.

^They have also sold tickets for the Belsaco, so that would really be screwing up a lot.

As someone who claims to be gainfully employed in the business, I'm kind of shocked you're teasing extremely sensitive (AND CONFIDENTIAL) info on a public message board. The announcement should be coming anytime tomorrow - it's related to another show already slated for Broadway; not a new one!

Does anyone still think Pirates of Penzance might transfer? Or, as alluded above, what shows have been announced for Broadway but don't have a theatre yet?

Um Liza, I'm shocked that you told us some extremely sensitive and seemingly confidential information too (previously announced vs unannounced). That leaves us with very few shows now, doesn't it?
Anyway... what about Prince Of Broadway? Is that showing up in NYC anytime soon? I want it before Hal passes away.

Could EVAN HANSEN be switching venues AND pushing back performances? Previews are (were?) slated to start mid-November.
Very odd were it to be true.

Would this make all tickets for the Belasco purchased null and void?
How would this all play out ticket wise?

Maybe they'd equate rows in the balcony of the Belasco to new rows in the mezz of the Music Box? And likewise for Belasco mezz seats to the orchestra? Not sure how they would work that out with the prices and people feeling they've been moved to worse seats. And of course, issue new tickets to everyone. I feel like that would be the best way to go ahead, but what do I know!

While I don't know if this is actually true, I'd love a move to the Music Box. It's my favorite theatre, and I don't think there's a bad seat in the house.

When Evan Hansen moves they'll just move people to the same seats, they did the same for when The Humans kept selling tickets for the Hayes for like a month even though the move to the Schoenfeld was already announced. Is there a reason they would push back performances though? I have tickets for the first week.

Since Shuffle Along announced its closure shortly after the Tonys, I'm curious to know why they'd wait so long to announce this switch.

While I prefer the Music Box to the Belasco, we have great seats for the second weekend of DEH previews, have already purchased train tickets, etc. It will be a real inconvenience if the dates change. If this is true, I am glad I held off buying tickets to other shows for that weekend, and we are going to have to do some scrambling if the show's opening is pushed back. Argh...

Perhaps the Shuberts thought they had another tenant lined up, and they fell through.

well, it was being rumored that GOTTA DANCE(now HALF TIME) was going into the Music Box. Maybe it's not coming over after all.

Maybe Shuffle Along is reopening. Audra was scheduled to return in the Fall, right?
(I'm KIDDING, for anyone who doesn't have a sense of humor.)
The easy thing about The Humans was that they were moving to a slightly larger theater with the same structure... orchestra and mezzanine.
The tricky thing here is that DEH is slightly downscaling and to a venue without a balcony coming previously from one with a balcony.
I'll truly be surprised if the DEH rumor is true.
ETA: Didn't realize the Music Box only has seven fewer seats than the Belasco. So maybe it won't be a major change after all.

If Evan Hansen transfers, what does that mean for Belasco? It's a gorgeous venue, one which I hope plush period pieces would make a better use of. Blackbird, for instance, sounded all sorts of wrong for it; but they ended up turning off almost all ceiling and column Tiffany lights to extend that dark gloomy office cube feeling.
Amelia could be interesting there, but I was under the impression it has a very modern feel to it.
Afterthought - Bandstand would be amazing there too, I'd say. Except for the sightlines from rear balcony seats.
