I usually know exactly which shows to catch, however I'm stumped at the moment.

I have seen ALL new shows of the season, including HIGH FIDELITY, except for the following. Which should I see?

A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN
DEUCE
INHERET THE WIND
RADIO GOLF
TALK RADIO
THE YEAR OF MAGICAL THINKING

And of course I could also see IN THE HEIGHTS off-Broadway. And on Broadway I have yet to see the long-running THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA nor SPAMALOT.

Thoughts? Suggestions? (This is for a Sunday matinee on June 10 in-between the Tony Awards rehearsal and evening Awards telecast).

THANKS!

I have only seen
RADIO GOLF
TALK RADIO
of the six that you listed, but of those two I *loved* TALK RADIO. Loved. RADIO GOLF was good, but TALK RADIO was just one of those the lights came back up and I wanted to see it again right then experiences.

The only thing I have heard about DEUCE from folks who have seen it is- there's no intermission, and it's *still* too long. fwiw.

RADIO GOLF or DEUCE would be my choice--though I love Vanessa--might pick her.

One would think YEAR OF MAGICAL THINKING or DEUCE however I've heard the same about both...basically "nah." Besides, HBO may be airing YEAR OF MAGICAL THINKING. If the reviews were better I'd definitely make it a point to see it.

I'm leaning towards TALK RADIO, IN THE HEIGHTS, or SPAMALOT. Though IN THE HEIGHTS is coming to Broadway...

OR do I want to see SPRING AWAKENING for a third time? Jeez...it shouldn't be this difficult in choosing a show!

Inherit the Wind first and then Talk Radio. The rest are all a waste of time.

"Radio Golf" is FAR from a waste of time- The performances are top-notch, especially Jenks and Chisholm, who gives the most incredible performance that I have seen this year.

Loved "Talk Radio" as well.

A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN - Worth seeing for Best's performance.
DEUCE - Painful, horrendous waste of time.
INHERIT THE WIND - Only worth seeing for Plummer's performance.
RADIO GOLF - Brilliant! Must-see! Anthony Chisholm's performance is not to be missed.
TALK RADIO - Dull and contrived as all hell.
THE YEAR OF MAGICAL THINKING - Dull as well.

PHANTOM and SPAMALOT will be playing forever. See something that won't be around for long.

TALK RADIO, with the exception of one person, the cast is all first rate. Shreiber is not to be missed.

Did you see the national tours of Phantom and Spamalot?

I'd go to see Phantom from the $26.25 seats, only if you haven't seen the show before, just to be able to say you saw the longest running Bway show, and Jennifer Hope Wills is very good. I hated Spamalot though, and the reviews on this board for Deuce were very bad, so I'd skip that and The Year will be televised like you say, so no. Did you see Xanadu?

You should really check out Passing Strange at The Public theatre if you like something like Spring Awakening. It's a new rock musical...it's really unique, perceptive, and witty. I definitely think it's something special. And rush tickets are only $20. In fact, you can get advanced student tix for $25.

If not, from your list, I think I'd see Moon for the Misbegotten.

I highly recommend In The Heights now, so that you can compare what's new or changed from the Off-Broadway version after it moves!

I would see In the Heights, Inherit the Wind or Talk Radio. I'd steer clear of Spamalot.

I'd see either Xanadu, that looks like a fun campy show, or The Fantasticks, if you already have seen 110.
What about Tamyra in Rent?

about the phantom 26.50 seats, are those in the way BACK of the theater, where you cant see anything??

Oh wow, did they just start doing the $26.25 rear seats for Phantom? Last time I was checking seating the cheapest was $66. Damn, if I'd have known that I would have made sure to check out Gary Mauer when he was in last month.

I'd say go for MOON. It's a limited run and Best is phenomenal. Student rush puts you right in the front row.

I love Spamalot, so I'd totally suggest seeing that. It's so much fun.

But if you want a show that's from this season, I'd suggest A Moon..., considering it's closing on Tony night. Or Inherit the Wind, just for the acting alone.

"I love Spamalot, so I'd totally suggest seeing that. It's so much fun. "

Oooh, I just saw Spamalot for the second time last week, and it's in pretty bad shape. As much as I love Marin, she is totally wrong in that part, as is most of the cast in their respective parts.

I would actually go with Yankee's suggestion of seeing Blackbird.

Whoever told you that the cheapest seat was 66, was trying to set you up, they have had seats from 26.25 since they opened I think, or an equivalent for what it costed back then. And yes, it's the last row of the theatre, you can see well, but from far, you can always bring binoculars. Im not a big fan of the show, so I wouldn't spend over 26 to see it, so that's why I have gotten those seats in the past.

I haven't seen Spamalot since the original cast days so I wouldn't know what's going on with it now. Too bad Marin is miscast. I've been meaning to go back just to see her.

I remember when those $26 seats were $15- We used to go see "Les Mis", "Phantom", or "Miss Saigon" for $15 !!!
