Who Is Your One Personal MUST WIN Tony Award This Year?

I second this. My other one, if I had to pick... would be just any big hitters for Cats... like Revival or Director.

Sorry I have multiple categories that I feel MUST win Tony’s come June.

BEST PLAY - LIBERATION

BEST ACTRESS - CASSIE LEVY

BEST ACTOR, MUSICAL - JOSHUA HENRY

BEST ACTRESS, PLAY - LESLIE MANVILLE

Korin hasn’t won a Scenic Design Tony yet!?!?  I will definitely add him to my MUST win for the beautiful set design of Dog Day Afternoon.

Other categories I feel are toss ups that I’m not really going to be upset if anybody else win.  I do love Cats and it should win Best Revival but I wouldn’t be upset if Ragtime nabs it.  I really hope Best Actor, Play would go to the phenomenal Mark Strong but I guess Lane and Litgow have been the frontrunners from the start and the other two noms Harrison and Radcliffe were excellent as well.  Featured performances I have yet to watch DoaS so I can’t really say anything about Abbot but by god I was awestruck with Alden Ehrenreich in Becky Shaw.

How this man doesn't already have a shelf full of Tony's never makes sense.

I know people love Laurie Metcalf’s performance, but I’m rooting for Betsy Aidem.  Her performance was very affecting to me and she and Susannah Flood are the two performances that stand out to me the most from the entire season.  I would love to see a clean sweep for all five of their nominations, Play, Leading Actress, Featured Actress, Direction, and Costume Design

I'll echo Joshua Henry and add LOST BOYS for Lighting Design. It could have been just the view from my seat, but the intricate, specific, and detailed lighting during the flying sequences blew me away. I maybe saw one wire the entire performance. That is the must win for me.

For me it's Alden Ehrenreich...who I actually think will win. Normally I'm not the biggest supporter when Hollywood comes to Broadway (of course I realize he has his own theatre company), but that was really a very tricky character to get right and he was astonishing

After reading some predictions in the prediction thread, I realized that every time someone didn’t pick Manville for best actress I got irritated so that is the one for me. It was one of the most astonishing performances I’ve seen in my life (and I’ve been around a long time). I did think Coons and Flood gave fantastic performances and I would likely be very happy if either won had Oedipus been in a different season (though I would lean to Flood whose career would benefit more from the Tony).

Another vote here for Lesley Manville. It's an incredibly stacked category this year, but what she did with that monologue in Oedipus haunts me months later.

Was thinking about this the other day. It's sort of an interesting parallel that in the last 20 years, his biggest chance of winning was most likely for The Humans, a solid but pretty traditional staging of the Best Play winner, but lost to someone's re-imagining of an Arthur Miller classic. Now, he's the frontrunner for his re-imagining of an Arthur Miller classic, likely facing his biggest competition from a solid but pretty traditional staging of the likely Best Play winner. So, this somehow all seems very appropriate.
