As far as I know, Cheyenne is scheduled to return to XANADU on Tuesday, July 29th...which is also Whoopi's first performance.

8/5 and 8/12 are Tuesdays...do you mean 8/6 and 8/13 (which are both Wednesdays)?

Why am I so excited to see Whoopi in this show???

Just got my onstage seats for 8/17. Seriously .. what a freakin day of theatre. Whoopi and Xanadu at 3 then the closing performance of A Chorus Line.

In my 29 years this very well could be the uber day of my life.

awesome.

Just got a ticket for the 7/29 performance, and it is my first on-stage seating! Can't wait!

do you think Whoopi's first night will be hard to get into?
I'm still deciding if I should get tickets for Whoopi's first performance. My original plan was to go to New York to see Cheyenne at his first performance back (which is why I asked the question, thank you btw) so I was planning on going on the 29th. Then I was thinking last night about on stage seating since I already bought a ticket for Spring Awakening on stage seating for the 28th. And I decided that I should get both an audience ticket (most likely first for the better view) and on stage since it's honestly so cheap. I bought a ticket for the 2nd performance and was watching The View when they announced it. I FLIPPED out. Mind you, this is only my second trip (both this year and, well, ever) so the odds of me already having tickets to a show I wanted to see PLUS Whoopi...aaaaaaah my cheeks are aching I'm grinning so much.

I do have a question though regarding the onstage seating. Since I've never done it before, what should I wear/what am I supposed to wear? Or does it not really matter? Also, I seem to remember someone saying you can request a seat onstage, but I don't really understand where since my ticket just says General Admission. Is it just first come, first serve? Thanks again and sorry for the long post. I'm just so excited!

Thank you much for the link! Although now I'm a little scared with the idea of everyone looking at me.

Whoopi Goldberg to STAR in Xanadu.

Why is there never any hyperbole on this board?

Cheyenne Jackson was on NY1's "On Stage" today and said Whoopi's "put in is this Friday" so don't be surprised if she begins her 6 weeks in the show earlier than the announced July 29th start date.
this friday? you think she'll be in july 26th matinee?
I know is the past when Cheyenne initially came into the show he started 1 day early. And then when Kyle Dean Massey (he's gone now) took over for Curtis he also started a day early so ya never know... anything's possibe.
but is it possible for 3 days early?
Um yea, definitely seeing this show again.
I've yet to see Xanadu. Will Whoopi be roller skating?
No, Caliope doesn't skate but she'll be singing EVIL WOMAN with Mary Testa

So I've read various things on here about Xanadu student rush. Do they not accept IDs without a date? And do they accept high school IDs? My sister has a high school ID and I'm wondering if she will be able to get a student rush ticket or if I should try to get on stage seats in advance. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
Whoopi was at today's matinee! (Not IN today's matinee.)

Yea!!!! I got my August 9th matinee tickets - one in the orchestra for me and two on-stage for some friends (I can't do on-stage because of a health condition). This will make it time #13 for me -- not the big leagues, but respectable, I think. I saw Cheyenne on Saturday in Damn Yankees -- I told him how much I really liked his appearance on the Tony's and what a great shot-in-the-arm his performance was for the box office -- he thanked me and said, "Yeah, that's what we wanted it to be."

I haven't done on stage at Xanaudu (but have tix for 8/6 matinee) but have at Spring Awakening. It doesn't bother me at all to be "watched" but my advice for those of you that are is the same advice I give actors (I'm a hs director). Once you are truly involved in your "task at hand" you won't think about the audience.

I have to admit: Xanadu was not on my list of shows to see. But I'd just heard from SO many people how much fun the show was and that I'd have a blast....so I had a gotten a tix that I ended up NOT being able to use (on the 27th). Once Passing Strange closed, I had to fill an opening for an upcoming trip....the Whoopi announcement rather made the decsion for me. On stage!

Whoopi just announced on THE VIEW she'll be at Harrah's in Atlantic City on July 26th so there's no way she'll be in the show on Saturday

Oh, not only was she there, but she was literally taking notes during the show. (I had never seen her in person and only a foot away. She's adorable!)
