This has been addressed many times - I know people will just respond with "everyone obsesses over Wicked, there are a million shows out there that are just as good, people need to realize that Broadway is more than just Idina Menzel" etc. I am a huge Wicked fan, but I don't talk about it much, just because I know what the result will be - but I think it is awesome to love Wicked, and I won't tell anyone anything else. It's just how the info and the Wicked obsession is presented on this board that I guess turns people off. To each his own.

And I totally agree - it's just one of those things, on this posting community, that you know will happen if you talk about Wicked - it isn't that I enjoy reading post after post on people bashing Wicked and Wicked fans, it's just the way it is around here.. I just choose to ignore it and post/read other things.
I love Wicked too - but there are other shows I would rather talk about. There's only so much that can be said about one show - everything's been said about Wicked!

I mean Wicked is obviously a great show - look at the numbers for attendance, the ticket sales, etc. It's just that some people here think it is TOO wonderful, according to some posters. It actually doesn't bother me, but I could see where it may be annoying and excessive.
Exactly. I like Wicked; it's hardly "the best thing ever," but it's a fun show. Really, I think Wicked is all well and good. But, there's a difference between someone who enjoys the show and someone whose life revolves around it.
Yes, a lot of people do hate you.
But it's ok, it's only because of your username and your first 100 posts - all containing the words: Wicked, Taye, Idina, Diggs, Menzel.
IDK, hate is too strong a word for me. I think half the problem with the Wicked obsessive fans has to do with seasoned posters who just attack, especially when most of the Wicked-crazed posters just joined and don't know how to suppress the desire to go all out Wicked right away - maybe lurking is the best temporary solution
i like wicked i think it is a great show and the message is very powerful. I am a 16 year old girl and I don't think I have posted under many wicked threads, but i have always laughed though when people make another thread about wicked to say why are there so many threads about wicked or why can't everyone be nice to the Wicked fans. I think that people are just posting there opinions about the young wicked fans, do I think they are harsh sometimes? yes i do, but sometimes people don't search. So all I think we should do is just try and condense down the wicked threads and everyone should just try to be supportive of what other people enjoy and let everyone just post what they want *but* there is no need for 8 threads about Idina and how great she is. Some people may think that some may not but there is no need for so many threads.
my .02 cents, wow I have had that bottled up for quite a while.
check your personality, I agree. Definitely. I don't in the slightest HATE these Wicked fans, I just find it annoying and I think people here put up with so many over the top Wicked fans that they come off as 'hating' them; it IS too strong of a word.
Wicked DOES have a bad rep now, and because of its biggest fans; kind of ironic...
First of all, I really don't mind if people here talk about Wicked (hey, it's a Broadway show and this is a Broadway message board), but it sucks when people post like this:
OMG! LYKE IDINA SIGNED MY PLAYBILL!!! OMG OMG! YAYAYAYAYAY!
