You joined today just so you could post that? In answer to your question, he does sing, and very well. I had seen his show, Back on Broadway, numerous times. He also sang in Les Miz, the movie. He also just did a duet with Barbra Streisand on her latest album. The man can definitely sing and obviously Ms. Streisand agrees.

Not JUST that. Also to open debate on life's eternal question "Is SITPWG the best musical ever?" and to warn of New Yorks' impending temporary demise in tourism.
As for Hugh, I haven't seen him live since Gaston in Melbourne but he definitely showed early promise.

HJ has a fine bari-tenor first heard in the US when the Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization sought him out to play Billy Bigeliw at its Rodgers centennial celebration concert of CAROUSEL. He received great reviews, as he did for his Tony award-winning musical performance in THE BOY FROM OZ the following year. His BACK ON BROADWAY concerts, essentially a one-man show, was equally successful. And while some prefer the park-and-bark approach to LES MIZ, his Jean Valjean in the film version was Oscar nominated.
In sum, the overall verdict is yes, Hugh Jackman, arguably the most in-demand stage musical male lead, can indeed sing.
There is video evidence that he sings... a case could be made if he does it well or not, but you're not making such a case?

If he didn't sing, they threatened to shoot his dog. That's why.

isn't that one of the rules of forums like this? "Always feed the troll"?
I have it on good authority that his "voice" has been dubbed by Marni Nixon throughout his "career".

It was recently revealed that Kathy Selden does all of his dubbed singing. I think she revealed this on an Oprah special about Hollywood mysteries.

Because Hugh Jackman sings- and if you don't think so , listen to his rendition of the song from Carousel- I think it is called My Boy Bill.

I was going to react on this post but you beat me to it :)
I think he is horrendous and I won't call it singing either. So, Ts, I have no idea.
And I have already expressed my feelings about this a lot.

Joined under this name. But this is what he does under every name he's used.
You sing when mere words are not enough. (And you dance, when song is no longer enough.)

Probably because he's famous for it. Hmm. Odd thread.
I think he is a damn poor singer.

Because he enjoys it.
Because he's good at it.
Because it pays the bills.

There's no doubt that Jackman can carry a tune but his technique drives me mad.
