Hey folks. I'm planning on a summer trip to NYC, and hope to see "The Light in the Piazza" on June 28, less than a week before the end of it's extension to July 2. However, during the past couple of weeks it hasn't been selling very well (in the fifties in terms of audience capacity). Do you think it will actually last until July 2, or will it close earlier than expected?

It will def last without a doubt, there still making money and they need to put it on tv two weeks after closing.
EDIT: yea that's wat i meant "before"

Doesn't it air June 15th, two weeks BEFORE closing?

and its a non-profit, subscription based organization. They'll last.
Yeah, but the reason I'm a bit worried is that I got tickets to the Roundabout's "Assassins" extension, and then they closed and refunded our tickets. I just don't want that to happen again! And like the Roundabout, Lincoln Center is non-profit, so I don't think they have the monetary resources to keep the show open if it isn't selling well.
How do you know, if you don't mind my asking?
Well, to put it like this - there is no guarantee it will stay open, but the show closing by then is EXTREMELY unlikely.
It will have to play to virtually empty houses for the next few weeks, and it's nowhere close to that - so, you shouldn't worry.
I already have my ticket for July 2nd so I hope it does play out its entire extension...and if it doesn't we will all be refunded. Just buy your June 28th ticket and hope for the best. It is an excellent show and I really hope you get to see it this summer!
How much does it cost LCT to play piazza?
I have a ticket for April 26th.
BSO thinks he knows everything.

Hopefully it'll do better once more tourists start coming in for the summer.
Yeah, good point. And the weeks before the house percentage in the 80s, so maybe it's just a temporary dip. If worse comes to worst, I can always see the tour.

Has the rush policy for Piazza changed at all? I bumped an old post about this topic, but no one is responding to it.
After the PBS airing, tickets will sell better than ever, and the show will extend again.
That's my birthday!
