I did onstage seating for the tour, and it has to be one of my favorite theater memories. I can't remember the last time a show made me smile that much.

I know right! It is so unexpectedly good! Even on the poster it says "Broadway's Surprise Hit Musical" haha

LOVED the show. I doubted it going in, but was grinning the entire show. Kerry Butler was great; I'd love to see her return to Broadway. I can't help but think how incredible Jane Krakowski would have been.

Xanadu was not a financial success on Broadway. It was likely not a financial success in its sit down in Chicago - because it closed early.
I doubt it will be revived on Broadway any time soon.
There was plenty of appreciation on this message board while the show was running. Phil should try the "search" function.

I don't have any issue. I made a comment about the show that was in response to your statement about a revival. I also noted there is a search function where you could find many comments about Xanadu when it was on Broadway- and there was great love for the show. If you wanted to know about people's thoughts - that is something you can use.
And, trust me, I have backed off plenty with respect to some of the things you have posted.

I've loved the recording for so many years, I think it's an absolute delight. Cheyenne Jackson's ridiculous voice! Kerry Butler, Mary Testa and Jackie Hoffman are all wonderful.

I love this show. Anyone know if audio or a demo exists of Jane in the role? I'd love to hear how she sounds on the songs. It's a shame she never got to do the role on Broadway

Quick! Somebody call Cubby Bernstein!
(still so jealous of Nathan having Cheyenne's jock flung at him)

Don't like it, but there're a myriad of worse shows out there.

I love Xanadu very much. I also saw the Dallas tour stop with Max Von Essen as Sonny Malone. (Cheyenne is very tall.)

I always wanted to see this but it closed right before my scheduled trip. The tour or should I say a tour, is coming for one night only to my city next year. I am assuming it is non equity. The performance center which is hosting is not our usual Broadway season house, which are here for a week. This center started bringing shows last year for one or two dates only, so not sure of the quality. If anyone has any info on this tour or it has come to your city, I would appreciate the info.

This show has a special place in my heart. I initially saw it not expecting much and it completely opened my heart. It gave me so much joy. Saw it 4 times on Broadway. It was fun because you never who would be playing what part.
I saw the tour with Annie Golden and sat onstage. She sat next to me during the show. Great memory.

I wish Kerry butler received more fame after this. It seemed like only Cheyennes career took off. Then it flew into the ocean.

Speaking of Cheyenne Jackson, he and his hubby just had twins: a boy and a girl.

I don't believe there are any tours (even non-equity) planned right now. In what city and on what date will this performance be taking place?
