I'm sure the two stars will be in a friendly mood this morning.

I highly doubt that, sundayclothes2. Especially if the people in question are Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth.

It sucked, but Lane certainly deserved a nomination over Chad Kimball.
They'll console themselves with their $1.3 million weekly grosses.
More like they will console themselves with their paychecks!!
Do you people even know what being "shutout" means?

Apparently not.
I think the lack of any design nominations really baffling- even people who hated the show seemed to find kind words for the sets & costumes. I am glad for Chamberlin- I thought his performance was inspired.

LOL "Lock" and "shutout" are certainly the buzz words to be ignorantly dropped at abandon to desperately sound intelligent and ahead of the curve. I guess you can use them for anything. La Cage and Fela were totally SHUT OUT! So was Fences! And Angela Lansbury is a LOCK for being SHUT OUT. Carrie Fisher was SHUT OUT of a LOCK! Gina Gershon SHUT the LOCK of her LOCKED SHUT OUT!!

say what you will, but this is a (MUCH DESERVED) shut out.
yes, they got 2 nominations... supporting actor (whatever) and score (which pretty much HAD to be nominated to round out a full category (i mean, really? even had to start nominating plays with a little bit of music.))
This is a 9 to 5 shut out, maybe worse?
congrats.

It's like there is an epidemic case of the STOOPIDS today.

a shut out, in this case, as its been in years past, are "big shows" that are snubbed for major awards (ie- best musical, book, lead actors)

Ohhhhhhhh, tanx for splainin that.
9 TO 5 looks like SWEENEY TODD compared to THE ADDAMS FAMILY.
But yeah, Lane deserved the nomination over Kimball for sure. And Jackie Hoffman deserved a nomination. Kevin Chamberlin was fine but I guess the Featured Actor category was slim anyway. Although I would've loved to see Stark Sands take Chamberlin's slot.
There is no "this case." That's NOT WHAT IT MEANS. You are misusing the term.

How about "just this one special case"? Or maybe two?
