well, if they give you a copy of the CD (which is out of print), please, please, PLEASE get a copy to some of us who have been waiting to hear this score for years...
I played Mrs White last year. I dont think there was ever a cast recording of the show. The music is interesting, and at times very difficult. But the show itself is not that great. We had an excellent cast, and the audience was still like this show is just bad. It can be alot of fun, but its silly. Out of 18 performances I only got picked once. Mr. Green got picked the most. Have fun.!
What's with the picking? The audience picks the ending ? ? ? I'm loving this idea, please expolain this further please.

Since this show is Audience participation based. At the beginning of the show people are offered "score sheets" or whatever you call them. As the show starts someone from the audience is picked to go on stage and draw the cards just as you do in the game. Usually they are huge and go into an envelope that the audience can see at all times. Some of the scenes in the show then are changed to fit the outcome. The audience tries to figure out from the 'clues' who did it.
"It's like children's theatre for 40-year old gay people!" - XANADU THE MUSICAL
I have the libretto. Honestly, it wasn't that bad. But it would have been better if it were more like the movie than the board game... I know that sounds rediculous as the movie is based on the board game, but I think the humor in the movie was less tacky. It's one of my favorite movies! I'd love to see the show.
Gavrochegirl: Who knows, maybe it will be a nice change of pace! Many people have heard Little Shop, not so many have heard Clue...
I hold a degree in Musical Theatre from Montclair State University. It is useless. Now I'm funny for money. Oh, and I sing.
I love Clue the Musical! It's definitely one big cheeseball, but audiences love it and it can be hilarious. When I played Mr. Green, I NEVER got picked as the murderer...only in rehearsal.
Question for you Buscee...are you male? Because I know that the part of Mrs. White is supposed to be played by a male but we had a female do it instead and she was stunning!
I'm currently directing a production of Clue the Musical with my theatrical organization in Birmingham, AL. Personally, I find the show quite entertaining; it's funny (though cheesy, I agree) and has some great music (in particular 'Everyday Devices' and 'Corridors and Halls'.) It's also got some great and memorable characters.
Anyway... I was lucky enough to recieve the Cast Recording of the show from the Manhattan Repertory Co. in 1998. I don't know where you can find one anymore but I'd be willing to mail you a burned copy (not before getting consent from Samuel French though.)
I'll post more information on the show when time comes.
Yes Im a male...I dont understand why it said it should b a man in drag, except for a few of those one liners. The show was fun to do, but I agree with the response it should have been more like the movie.
