I agree. the good songs are great. Berstein was a genius, I just think he was a little off when he did the music to WONDERFUL TOWN

I think that the "Wrong Note Rag" is absolutely brilliant. It's like early Sondheim. It helped to introduce the concept of using unusual sounding intervals in musical theatre. Almost Sondheim-esque.
Sondheim. I try and listen to his work (Into the Woods, Sweeney Todd, etc.) but the only two I thoroughly enjoy are "Sunday In the Park With George" and "Assassins".I respect his work however and his is very talented but I don't always like it.

Sondheim.

Rodgers and Hammerstein, with the exception of "Sound of Music." Every other show they did makes me want to claw my eyes out.
priest - no Violet? keep listening, i promise you...u have the ear many ppl do not. Tesori is a genius.
i can't even respond to the Sondheim unappreciation...but in a way i'm glad not everyone worships him
I can't get into all Sondheim, like SITPWG.
Also, LaChiusa. I went to his Lincoln Center concert, "The Girly Show", and while I enjoyed the performances (Julia Murney, JLT, Sally Murphy, Michelle Pawk, to name a few), the songs weren't particularly memorable.
zzzzzzz...me, snoring thinking about memorable songs
its really f*cked up how u guys are trashing such broadway legends like R&H and Sondheim......
LaChiusa. Little Fish was painful to sit through.
