speak ill of the wicked
#0speak ill of the wicked
Posted: 6/14/04 at 10:12ami have decided to post this thread so that we who despise wicked will not infect the giddiness of the approximately 346,829 "hail wicked" threads. i think it's better to concentrate our venom in one thread rather than chance it killing the joy of those millions of new members that have joined to sing the praises of the bi-uh, i mean witch musical. better we let them have their day now. face it, they'll run out of steam soon as the add sets in and most are distracted by a shiny piece of wrapping paper. until then, feel free to spill some bile here!

Bush is sort of doing a Bob Dole thingy with his hands, i'n he?
Anyway, thank god someone posted this thread. I don't know what I'd do otherwise.
Is this the one thread where we can say it's a very good thing that Jennifer Laura Thompson is taking over for Glinda? That also seems taboo on the other "Idina/Wicked is the bestest musical of all time threads."
I do have to say that I Was greatly interested in the thread discussing what Idina and Kristin eat in between the matinee and evening performances. I like to think they eat organic salads with oil and vinaigrette.

They eat?!?! noooooo? really? I do that too!
A lot of the posts have been cracking me up, but yes things are out of control.

THey sort of look like they're about to mambo themselves.
But, hey, this has nothing to do with hating Wicked! We...must...stay...on-topic...

Posted: 6/14/04 at 11:27ami just despise that joel grey fella. the bum embarrassed me in front of elton john once and i've never forgiven him. that alone can feed my animosity of this show for as long as its short run might be!

He had a thing between and above his shoulders?
How can one have a neck when one lacks a spine?

Careful you two.
Any more talk of head(s), and you'll end up moving back to "off-topic" land. And you just made it out.

Wicked has perhaps the worst ensemble working on Broadway today.
The ensemble sounds good on CD (with 15 takes and a good editor), but in person there were moments when my skin crawled.
How's that sensei?

Posted: 6/14/04 at 1:19pmSaw the show on Friday, and the ensemble sounded great. I get the feeling that some people don't know what they're talking about. Just a feeling...

Posted: 6/14/04 at 1:20pmI get the feeling that the talent of the ensemble is a matter of taste and therefore subject to variation.

I'm sorry Mr. Mantello. Your direction of 'Wicked' was wonderful. Did I say wonderful? I meant crap.
Assassins was great though.
