I think Flowery Friend brings up a great point. She (judging by her picture) enjoys Wicked but is annoyed at the Wicked fans. I can definitely say that there are shows I like, but the people who obsess over them tend to drive me insane (can you say "RENT"?). People who tend to obsess over shows really end up repeating themselves and rarely say anything intelligent when discussing the shows they love.
Personally, I have only heard the score to Wicked and I do enjoy it. But PLEASE just let people have their opinions. If the Wicked haters want to discuss their vehement dislike for the show...LET THEM. It is a free country and it's not as if the Wicked fans haven't voiced their opinions at length.
Let people say what they wanna say.
Nick

could you try not to move so much? dammit we're getting off topic! this is about the lifeless corpses onstage that the gershwin, for heaven's sake, not our sordid little pas de deux.
now, who think that the music for tsatg was actually a sick joke that schwartzy has unleashed upon high schools everywhere to lower the expectations of broadway musicals? could it be that he's in league with universal on this as part of a dastardly scheme to cheapen broadway and defraud the american theatre-going public?

Time has actaully been pretty good to TRON. Has a hell of alot more imagination than the recent Disney ****e. They were so much better when they were washed up...but then, aren't we all?
Listen poo-poo heads, WICKED is a Schwartz masterpiece that's going to run forever and ever and have a long, long afterlife, just like THE MAGIC SHOW! Ooooh, DOUG HENNING AS THE WIZARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah, he's dead, never mind.

Do you mean "DEAD" as in Elphaba/Mimi dead? Or "DEAD" as in Angel/King of Siam dead?

Posted: 6/16/04 at 3:28pmI'm gonna start by saying I enjoyed Wicked when I saw it. However, all the Wicked-spazzes on this board and elsewhere have brought on an odd sense of....loathing. Anyway, I'm also a Schwartz fan, but this is not at all his best work and I would be interested to know how many of the little Wicked fans out there have heard any of his other work. Oh well, enough venting.

Excuse me, ZannaFan.
Serious question:
Why does my picture lead you to believe I am a Wicked fan?
I mean, I love Wicked, don't get me wrong.
But why would you think so based on my picture?

FF-
I think ZannaFan was saying that, judging by your icon, you are female, not that you like Wicked. Oh, and nice one SueleenGay.

Oh yes, I am indeed a she.
That's why I keep the picture up.
Some people in the past have seen the word "flowery" and assumed that I am a homosexual male.
(I have no idea why.)
The picture is there to verify my she-ness.
:)
(ckeaton, that wasn't cool. How dare you tell them about my pointy hat!)

ok, people, we're geting off topic here what with dead magicians and apersand's pointy head. i blame myself as i should have knownt that the mere mention of tron would send the thread careening off on a wild tangent. my apologies.
now then, why was it that even a performer as talented as joel grey was unable to save the one note paean to mediocre songwriting and intellectual property theft "wonderful?"
