Ok..I still don't really see where she was ATTACKED though. And for the record...I loved her in Rocky Horror too. LOVED her! But now I have to figure out what to do with all these signs I made now that the protest is cancelled.
See, I don't get people like you, Jason. If you are that disgusted with all the posts on here why do you continue to post yourself and say so. Just leave.
And for the record, if you think BWW is bad then you haven't been around. Some of the comments after articles on CNN.com, youtube, or even ATC make us look like pacifists.
I don't get why people are so shocked when the entire world doesn't share their opinion. And then they start saying things just as obnoxious as those they decry.
Maybe isn'titromanic can do a section about that in his thesis.
There's a viscious rumor (as opposed to Viscious Cirle...hope she's well!) going around that *someone* may have saved the thread taz was just speaking of.
Tazber, I'm not "disgusted by all the posts" on here, nor did I say or imply several things some posters keep attributing to me on here. But I'm ignoring the nonsense.
In fact, I wrote earlier about a "silent, reasonable majority" who reads these discussions...like, thousands of them...who I'm quite sure are appalled at some of what has been written on here. It's just gross, some of it.
I'll simply not respond, specifically, to the negativity and hate aimed at those I work with and care about in the professional entertainment world.
It's also clear some posters here simply make things up, and I don't feel inclined to respond to that dishonesty, either...
As you can see from my posting history, I have responded to EVERYONE who has made ANY respectful substantive post with thanks and civility. If others knew how to control themselves in this manner, the world would be a much nicer place. But, I'm not holding my breath...
p.s. - People keep sending me message about what facebook note I'm talking about, because I guess they don't want to scroll through 18 pages of posts. It's here, it was about Alice's comment and the Simon Cowells of the world: http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=402545182973&comments

I'm honestly not trying to be a smart ass here or anyting...but where were any of the famous people you mentioned in your posts attacked? If anything, a coulpe people called you out for name dropping...but I didn't see anyone attacking the people you mentioned.
Erik, I appreciate your post, and many of your posts. But, anything I say about that will just bring more attention to them and subject them to even more attacks...

Instead of attacking Jason, I think we should focus on the fact that isntitromantic used this, us and our devotion to Alice to his own ends. Personally, I feel that you all have been made fools of. I wonder why Alice was so understanding of him -- maybe she understands the value of publicity.
Even if it's true isntitromantics post hardly matters. It was clear from the very begining that there was never going to be a stage door protest and most people found that idea ridiculous. This discussion would have happened here either way.
"I'll simply not respond, specifically, to the negativity and hate aimed at me or those I work with and care about in the professional entertainment world."
If that were true...you wouldn't have joined this thread in the 1st place, or continued to post ad nauseum. Spare us your self-righteous BS.

“Since coming on here and writing what I've written, I've received a very large number of private messages and emails thanking me quite emphatically for my posts on here.”
Why do these losers always say this?
“And so here's a public thank you for all the messages of thanks and support I got for my posts. But, it's not about me...it's about the issues I've been talking about.”
See, Jason, that’s what’s so funny. You don’t even realize that every one of your posts seems to be about YOU.
“This thread has just surpassed the "deer thread" on the top 10 list of all time BWW craziness.”
God Damn it.
“No. Nothing beats deer. Ever. There's deer...and then there's everything else. Close second, though!!” “Nothing will surpass Angry Deer. Nothing.”
Good Times, good times.
“I'll simply not respond, specifically, to the negativity and hate aimed at me”
But you still keep coming back and posting more crap…
“And, as I said in a private message to a couple of private messages I got, it's very interesting that on facebook I have about 2,340 "friends," probably of whom 1,800 are involved in the business in some way. And I never see the lack of respect, rudeness, incivility, etc. on there between us. And we disagree about tons of things...so, it's interesting...”
But it’s NOT about YOU, is it?

The number of posts the narcissistic Jason Bennett has posted after his final-word-on-the-issue posting reminds me of my favorite joke told by the phenomenally gifted Bette Bourne as the lights went down before a Bloolips show:
Do you know the difference between a real man and a queen?
A real man leaves without saying "Goodbye" and queen says "Goodbye"
"As you can see from my posting history, I have responded to EVERYONE who has made ANY respectful substantive post with thanks and civility. If others knew how to control themselves in this manner, the world would be a much nicer place. But, I'm not holding my breath...back to phone calls I go... "
Jason i gotta say you just hit the nail on the head. If Alice would have taken a moment to do what you did throughout this post, i dont think we would be here...lol. Earlier you mentioned you didnt think there was a moment to consider your thoughts when typing(im paraphrasing.) But i ask you. When you are typing your statuses... or posts on here, do you not take a moment to reread, spell check, or just check to make sure they make sense? I for one do... over and over. And by the way your post are expertly worded (no sarcasm, i mean it), i assume you do too. If a person doesnt filter, then maybe its not a good idea to make these posts, or be in the public eye, or talk to people who don't "know" them. Its a recipe for disaster... this thread is proof. The ability to filter is what keeps us civil.
And as to that whole diabolical thread thesis business... this thread would exist with or without that. It just still sucks to me that people are so adamant about not wanting the conversation to continue. And thats what it is... a conversation. Not a "witch hunt, or bashing, or mean". Get real... things happen, and we're gonna talk about it until we feel better or turn blue in the face. Thats what people with sense do. And thats what a message board is for.
I'm still waiting for EponineAmneris to show up and tell us that she's cried herself to sleep every night since this incident.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
~ Muhammad Ali

Yes, but when I've issued a status from my phone, I've frequently sent typos before I realized it. And on many phones, you cannot quickly delete a status. And once someone captures it, it's there forever. I have certainly written posts I regretted. Thankfully, I'm a behind the scenes guy in my career, at least to the public, so no one really cares about my facebook statuses.
For all we know, Alice felt horrified within 2 milliseconds of what she'd written. I would expect she did, frankly. But, I would also imagine many friends might have said, "If you say anything else about it, it will just draw attention to it. Just ignore it..."
I am not one of her advisors. That would NOT have been my advice. In fact, if there had been a protest last night, I would have advised her to join it and thank everyone who showed up and for her to use it as an opportunity to get some media attention for how we gay people are so viciously discriminated against. But, I'm not in her inner circle, so, she didn't get my advice.
"If a person doesnt filter, then maybe its not a good idea to make these posts, or be in the public eye, or talk to people who don't "know" them. Its a recipe for disaster... this thread is proof. The ability to filter is what keeps us civil. "
Aboslutely, absolutely. Filtering and self-control is a hallmark of consciousness and, in fact, of being a master performer...I don't separate either in my work with performers. It's one reason why I think separating "acting" from "reality" is a bad idea in training (and you must also NOT EVER be "taken over" by any energies you access when playing extreme characters).
In my work, I humbly work to teach performers consciousness, on-stage and off. There is no separation. The separation teaching can cause someone to be brilliantly conscious ON-stage and a wreck off-stage. If we unite the teaching and make it about overall consciousness, we have much, much less of that -- much happier, healthier performers. I like working with happy performers, who are as conscious in their private lives as they are on-stage.
"Not a "witch hunt, or bashing, or mean". Get real..." - Those are not all my words, and certainly not in any context I wrote. But, I stand by the observation that vicious attacks are all throughout this discussion, and on other web sites, as well.
It just may be the case my threshold for cruelty is far lower than some posters. In fact, that is utterly certain. It's clear some posters can't even understand any kind of sophisticated discussion.
THANKS FOR YOUR THOUGHTFUL, RESPECTFUL, COOL NOTE! Hope you have a great day. And I hope the venom-spewers find a way to feel better...
