COYOTE UGLY musical adaptation with music by Diane Warren to premiere in West End in 2027 Dec 11

It's very BURLESQUE in its set-up, but a few things about this intrigue me. The first is that the original writer is adapting it. If it is going back to her original screenplay before it was put through the Hollywood factory, maybe the producers are aiming for a storyline with a bit more sincerity. The second is that the story actually presents itself as a great framework for a musical. If you know the movie, you can see a lot of the numbers forming in y

DEATH BECOMES HER Reviews Dec 11

Having just seen Ana Gasteyer's holiday show (which is fabulous, by the way), I'd also love to see her take on Helen. I saw her years ago in Rocky Horror and Wicked and her voice has only gotten stronger. She's able to dial that brassiness back when needed and go soft but can peel paint with the best of them.

Rumor: BEACHES opening at the Majestic this season Dec 8

Another big showing going into a Shubert house, the Shubert only has 5 big houses, so is The Great Gatsby or Hell’s Kitchen going to announce? I would think Chess will extend, as it is selling well?"
Purple Rain is postponed for now."
And that's a good thing. That show was in no shape to open on Broadway. It n

Phantom Tour Cast Dec 8

I caught the four history-making leads last night, and it was another strong performance.
Matthew Griffin was in excellent voice as Raoul, and any shaky acting moments I chalked up to the understandable challenges of an understudy who may not go on often. He also bears a striking resemblance to Isaiah Bailey (who understudies the Phantom as well), which added an interesting layer to seeing Christine pursued by both men.
Olivia McMillan was a strong Carlotta and earned more laugh

Yes, JLG was on Saturday matinee and Sunday evening while Alexa was on Sat night and Sun Matinee.
And that is amazing about the four leads. I managed to get a ticket for tonight and I hope for u/s so I can get a different experience -- I love an u/s :)

Phantom Tour Cast Dec 5
2025, 10:32:26 AM
I caught the tour this past weekend in Minneapolis, and I found it to be one of the best companies I’ve seen. Perhaps because the tour is still so fresh, the ensemble’s energy was high, and the leads still have a curiosity in their acting that makes it interesting to watch—even for those of us who have seen the show numerous times.
As someone who didn’t mind the revised production, I was still glad to see it return (mostly) to the original, more haunting staging

I think the younger generations will cherish and learn from this film and that makes me happy."
Agree that it takes a solid 10 minutes to sink into this; the opening is hectic as-is, but the quick cutting is a bit bewildering to watch.

Anyone hear news about the London cast? Was Hannah's name still in the mix? I also heard Jessie J being thrown out there for Viola.

Like many on here, my first time seeing the sequel was disappointing. And it felt weird to be so disappointed after being excited for a year to see it.
So I went back the next day. And you know what...I liked it. It's still not flawless and not as magical as the first film, but I had a far more emotional reaction to it the second time around than the first. I realized that the second time I had given myself space to see the film for what

I'm still going to the mat for Bridget Everett and Jeff Hiller coming in as Mary and Abe.
I'm also surprised that no one has mentioned John Early, especially given his connection to Cole.

I’m sure at the Majestic Theatre it plays better but with the intimate camera in her face you could see her working her performance. It was too much “I’m Audra McDonald and I’m acting these lyrics better than any other actress has ever.” Her acting wasn’t anchored to the music so there was a disconnect. That’s whereall the other actresses who&rs

Cabaret Casting Rumor: Orville Peck & Eva Noblezada May 19

Can't speak to Eva, but Orville had May 16-17 as scheduled absences. It was on the website and ticketing sites. June 5, 27, and 28 are, as of now, his other known dates he will be out.
Hasn't Eva gone from one show (Gatsby) to the next (West End Hadestown) to the next (Cabaret) with very short/no breaks in between. That's a fairly rigorous schedule, and I can

I'm wondering -- do you think that they (Megan/Jennifer) have it in their contracts that a public appearance/TV show counts as a performance? It would be a smart move to avoid being overworked during the awards season by running from all these promo appearances and dragging themselves through 8 shows a week and exhausting themselves in the process. Originally, they may have thought they could cover it with understudies but when the show went viral on TikTok and more was demanded of them,

Those $77 seats are the way to go! We sat in the aisle seats one row ahead, and they were unbelievably great. There was tons of legroom, clear sightlines, and there was a small shelf in front of you to set your program on. The one you are looking at is under the overhang of the balcony so I'm not sure how that would affect some views of entrances that happen up top, but the seats one row ahead aren't in the overhang.
In short...buy with confidence :)
