The 78th Annual TONY Awards Performances!

I’m sure at the Majestic Theatre it plays better but with the intimate camera in her face you could see her working her performance. It was too much “I’m Audra McDonald and I’m acting these lyrics better than any other actress has ever.” Her acting wasn’t anchored to the music so there was a disconnect. That’s whereall the other actresses who&rs

Cabaret Casting Rumor: Orville Peck & Eva Noblezada

Can't speak to Eva, but Orville had May 16-17 as scheduled absences.  It was on the website and ticketing sites.  June 5, 27, and 28 are, as of now, his other known dates he will be out.

Hasn't Eva gone from one show (Gatsby) to the next (West End Hadestown) to the next (Cabaret) with very short/no breaks in between. That's a fairly rigorous schedule, and I can

I'm wondering -- do you think that they (Megan/Jennifer) have it in their contracts that a public appearance/TV show counts as a performance? It would be a smart move to avoid being overworked during the awards season by running from all these promo appearances and dragging themselves through 8 shows a week and exhausting themselves in the process. Originally, they may have thought they could cover it with understudies but when the show went viral on TikTok and more was demanded of them,

Those $77 seats are the way to go! We sat in the aisle seats one row ahead, and they were unbelievably great. There was tons of legroom, clear sightlines, and there was a small shelf in front of you to set your program on.  The one you are looking at is under the overhang of the balcony so I'm not sure how that would affect some views of entrances that happen up top, but the seats one row ahead aren't in the overhang.

In short...buy with confidence :)

Their absences just seem so weird and so random. On days they have been out they attend other daytime events and seem in good health.

I'm hardly a good judge though. I had zero interest with anyone cast so far. Any name I can think of that I would pay to see, when I Google what they've been up to lately, I learn they've been dead 10 years.

Is she just skipping all the matinees? She was out when I saw it yesterday, and I just read a comment on Instagram that she was out on Saturday too.

She hasn't done a Wednesday matinee in over a month.

That's not true.  I saw the matinee on 4/16 and she was in.

OH, MARY! Reviews

Yes!  Somebody Somewhere is unequivocally terrific.

Speaking of Jeff Hiller, he'd also made a handsome Mary Todd.  Or an interesting Lincoln opposite Everett.  That's probably more of my Somebody Somewhere revival dreams than anything, though.

This is a terrific idea!  I can't believe Everett hasn't done Broadway before...even as a Mama Morton replacement.  I know she's ultra niche...but she could do a straight play or a musical (and this is sort of both)

Why is it 'weird'?  When stars of the movies that musicals are adapted from visit the show, there are stories all the time about it. (Goldie/Death Becomes Her being the most recent example and I'm sure there's been talk of when Meryl will visit.)  And it was Ferrera's breakout role so no, I

It would be great if they had some star producer come in an attach themselves to it and put a bigger spotlight on it.  When I saw the show, I was thinking that down the line Gloria Estefan would make a great replacement for Justina -- and she has experience in producing as well.

Also -- has America Ferrera not been to see the show yet?

AUDRA GYPSY Reviews
 Apr 30 2025, 12:58:53 PM

Add me to the list of people who were initially skeptical of Audra taking on this role. I couldn't see that gorgeous voice really attacking that score, and the rest of the casting didn't excite me much. However, when I was in NYC recently, I couldn't pass up the chance to see one of Broadway's best stars in one of the best musicals ever at the beautiful Majestic Theater. I went in a doubter and left a firm believer that Audra could play Don Quixote if she wanted.

I've been an usher and a house manager for large theaters (2300+ seats) that host Broadway shows. Honestly, you always have to weigh whether getting involved during the show will be more disruptive than waiting until intermission or catching the guest on their way out. Guests always need to be reminded that "the artist" or "the show" is asking for this policy to be enforced, not the theater or its staff. If a guest is agitated or unruly, that's when our security ge

Thank you so much for the review (of the seat and the show!)  I also am behind on the show which is giving me pause...but I think the theatricality of it will win out and convince my group to go :)

Again, thank you :)

Does anyone know how the view is from the last few rows of the Orchestra?  Either side?  Looking ahead and trying to plan a trip and View from My Seat doesn't make it seem like these are too bad for sightlines.

Thank you!
