Re: SIX will close on Broadway this winter

Aug 27, 2026 — 10:54:57 AM

Jeffrey Karasarides said: "They're also probably trying to see if they can get a publicity boost for the final months of the run."Honestly, it made me less interested in seeing it live. I had been putting it off because the idea of a 70 minute long themed concert didn't really appeal to me. I saw the filmed version and thought it was fine, but it confirmed my reservations about spending live theatre prices on it. It definitely wasn't my cup of tea.

Paranormal Activity is tedious

Aug 24, 2026 — 8:21:53 AM

Broadway Flash is only a part of the problem. This person is seeking a response and every single one of you gives it to them every single time. You all love to respond to this person as much as they love the response. Stop. Block this person every time they come up with a new name. Stop littering the board with responses to this person.

Re: Hollywoof Encore: Pro-Shot Broadway Shows

Jordan Catalano said: "It’ll be very interesting to see what happens, considering that just looking over “Six” Showtimes here in the city for the next five days, overall it’s not selling very well. Hopefully the sales pick up, but by this point a couple of weeks ago, “Hadestown” was already selling out showtimes."The marketing for most pro-shots that make it to cinemas is typically awful. I am not sure I have seen an ad for Six on any of my social media feeds. Hadestown was quite the exceptio...

Come From Away Broadway Revival Status?

Aug 8, 2026 — 8:56:39 PM

Productions of Come from Away are a dime a dozen right now. It was the most produced show in regional theatres for the 25-26 season. If I can see a good production locally for $75 or less, am I likely to pay $125 or more to see it in Broadway? Probably not.

New Movie of Phantom

I thought this was supposed to be an anime adaptation that was announced last year that's being produced in association with Qubic Pictures.https://www.lwentertainment.com/news/qubic-pictures---a-new-the-phantom-of-the-opera-anime

NYMag Interview with Michael Arden on Lost Boys, QOV, MHE Casting

what's next for Caissie Levy

Jun 21, 2026 — 11:54:33 PM

DeNada said: "Jordan Catalano said: "The character of Mrs. Brown needs to completely exude warmth, love and kindness. It’s a tough role to cast and there’s something about Levy that just makes me think she could be perfect for it."While I agree that Levy would probably do a good job in the role, I also think it would be a bit of a waste of Levy's talents and star power. Your average audience member isn't walking out of Paddington thinking about Zap Bam Pow and its slightly forced lyrics, or b...

That sweaty person!

Jun 21, 2026 — 11:29:19 AM

I've been saying this guy was scum since his tone-deaf row with Kennedy Kanagawa, which never picked up much traction on these boards. I have him blocked on every outlet possible. If anyone reposts him, I block them too. He could be right a million times, he still doesn't deserve the attention he gets. He is a genuinely terrible person.

Reimagined THE FANTASTICKS will open on Broadway this fall

Jun 15, 2026 — 10:46:11 AM

The difference between the the Hayes being a Broadway theatre rather than an off-Broadway theatre is fewer than 100 seats. I'm sure the space will be just fine for The Fantasticks; it's not like it's taking The Majestic.

Hadestown in cinemas

Jun 8, 2026 — 10:52:19 AM

hak5 said: "& last night was a missed opportunity to have a commercial break advertisement for the pro-shot in cinemas"The audience for The Tonys either already knows that Hadestown will be in cinemas, or they are at an age in which they don't really attend movies in theaters much anymore; that is just a reality of the demographics. Besides, the distributor isn't likely to drop the money for an ad on a very limited release. There are only seven available time slots to see it at my local theat...

Whatever happened to the play of 'Brokeback Mountain'?

May 5, 2026 — 3:39:13 PM

I'm seeing it in Chicago early next month. My curiosity is piqued despite Jordan's review and flipping through a very nice capture of the London production. The tickets were not terribly expensive, and the seats are good. If it sucks, we'll still have a nice day in Chicago.

Eugene O’Neil Theatre on fire!!

Mr. Wormwood said: "The cost and logistics of moving the show to another theater seems very unlikely to me. I think it would have to be a shutdown of 6 months plus for that to be a feasible option. They will probably just go dark until they can be back at the O'Neill."Or just close. The numbers aren't what they used to be, and 15 years is a great run. This could just be the sign to close up shop.
