Overall, the lowest-grossing week on Broadway since late September.

Happy trails to A WONDERFUL WORLD. Rema Webb just left HELL'S KITCHEN to play Mama Morton in CHICAGO, and Angela Birchett is now in her HK ensemble track.

Bad week for GYPSY with the extra Audra absences. (Danny missed a performance, too.)

MOULIN ROUGE! and DEATH BECOMES HER with the lowest ATPs among musicals last week. Interesting...

It's only three previews, but that's a decent start for BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB. Okay first full week for MINCEMEAT even with all the discounted preview tix.

And it looks like some good WOM has spread for ENGLISH for its final few weeks!

Oh look, a bibu!

Gypsy won't survive without Audra.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I don't think it's intent is run without her though. The point of the production is her like Music Man was about Hugh and Sutton.

A friend went for Tryphena’s scheduled Sunday matinee and, when he got to the box office, apparently it came up in conversation with the attendant that the house was only 30% sold for the day.

This can be true they plan for it to run at a certain ATP within a contracted period and break even and that's smart but producers WERE making calls pretty much the entire year to get Justin Timberlake, Seth McFarland, Jimmy Fallon, etc etc etc to take it over. They knew it couldn't run with Max (or a similar non big name) no matter how good they were so they didn't waste millions to test it. I imagine Gypsy producers have making "December 2025?" calls to various actresses but most won't want to replace.

One name comes to mind when replacing Audra- Heather Headley. Get a film star Herbie and it could run.

& Juliet is holding up pretty well lately... Joey Fatone effect?

I haven't read all the grosses threads closely lately but Hell's Kitchen is not nearly as strong through its first winter as I thought it might be. Not in immediate danger of course and it will probably pop back up in better seasons, but still - I feel like it might be a candidate for closing around a year from now.

Maybe Happy Ending is just doing so well. What a turnaround for that show.

Moulin Rouge is looking rough lately but it always pops with stunt casting so I have to think they have a few more tricks in their bag.

Gatsby is holding up well.
