Motive and the Cue?
Cate’s Seagull?
Personally, I’m hoping for the Hiddleston Much Ado and have (waning) hopes for Two Strangers…
Anyone else hear any rumblings?
Heard Giant with John Lithgow is coming next year after its West End run.
As for other shows that should transfer to New York, The Years and Benjamin Button, as well as Much Ado whole, wholeheartedly deserve NYC transfers.
With Lithgow attached to the new Harry Potter series, I’m curious if that’ll impact the shows chances of coming over.
And as tired as I am of Jamie Lloyd’s “schtick”, I gotta say I loved “Much Ado”. It was the most fun I’ve had at a show in a while.

I would love to see Jonathan Bailey transfer in Richard ii. And I wish Paul mescal was running longer I miss it by 2 weeks.
I had hoped Ian McKellan would transfer with kings players.

TWO STRANGERS is reportedly part of the next A.R.T. season before coming to Broadway.
Fingers crossed for Giant and The Seagull. Hoping I won’t have yet another reason to hate JK Rowling.
Motive and the Cue has been a rumored transfer for a while, but the fact it hasn't materialized and there seems to be no buzz or momentum behind it are not exactly promising signs.
Blanchett might be the BIG DRAW of "The Seagull" but it also has two very busy film stars, Kodi Smit-McPhee & Emma Corrin, so it's probably not just about Cate's availability.

Three weeks at BAM or Lincoln Center, c’mon!
I'd guess that would be all we'd get here, especially given Blanchett's history with BAM.

i have been hoping we could get a transfer of A Mirror
next season at MTC? LOL
I think Benjamin Button has to be the next big new musical to come over.
There are always so many starry plays on both sides of the pond live and die by their stars and never transfer because of that. Of the big West End ones this season, I'd agree that Much Ado seems most likely just because Lloyd has a history of bringing his stuff over here.
I'm also curious about Kyoto. That looks really really interesting.

Wasn't Dear England once rumored?
I didn't see "Kyoto" over there but was told a NYC production is "very likely".
I don't see a world where Giant doesn't transfer after the West End, if only for very limited run. Not only a great play, but a performance for the ages. He's all but assured another Tony.

I’ve seen rumored
Benjamin Button
Giant
Two Strangers
Much Ado
Elektra
Evita
Would hope for -
Richard II
The Years
The Producers
Motive and The Cue to finally transfer
Icke’s Oedipus
RSC’s Hamlet
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
Robert Icke had an interview last year that he was hoping to stage Player Kings in the US in 2025. I hope he does. Tremendous performances.
Jesus if that’s true, just change the name of The West End to Pre-Broadway

I loved A Mirror and would love to see it again

The West End has become, arguably, the most popular pre-Broadway launch location post-pandemic. In some regards, it’s gotten way too costly to hold tryout productions in the States.

I remember reading somewhere that Mrs. Warren's Profession with Imelda Staunton and her daughter, Bessie Carter, was aiming for NY after its spring/summer 2025 run - any truth to that?
I thought Juno and the Paycock with Mark Rylance and J Smith Cameron might come over after it finished its West End Run, but with the reviews it received, it's probably unlikely.

It wasn't just rumored, it got as far as posting an EPA back in 2023. I have no idea if the auditions were actually held, but the production obviously didn't move forward.

While a great condensation of thee two amazing Shakespeares, I can't see it coming to Broadway. With that said, like Cate, Sir Ian has a relationship with BAM, I can definitely see it play a month's long run there.

I love them both, but this production was just all over the place, and for all the wrong reasons. Cameron was incandescent, Rylance was...just fine.
All bets are off for any import from London, theatrical or otherwise, for the next few years. Tariffs, cultural shifts, a declining dollar and a resurgence of anti-American sentiment. I am sure UK theater producers will still want to make money but that is what we will get… just the cash grabs.
