Re: New Phantom 2026 Mixes - I LOVE them!

Oct 9, 2026 — 4:18:06 PM

Overall I definitely enjoyed this new mix. Hearing all the cut stuff was really cool, this makes a neat alternative to the original and it definitely sounds new and fresh. What are the odds that more of his cast albums will get the same treatment? I'd love an updated recording of Evita, especially if there are some alternate vocal takes of LuPone lying in the ether somewhere.

Re: EVITA 2025 London Cast Recording Thread

How exciting to have a new, full-length recording of this score that sounds as excellent as it does. Interestingly, one of my favorite moments is during Dice Is Rolling 2...Rachel's choices on "So I don't exist, so I count for nothing" are so strong, I cant wait to watch her eat this role up onstage. Also, Che's reading of the final lines creeped me out, I'm excited to see what kinda creepy stuff Jamie Lloyd does with that ending.

Scherzinger in SUNSET BLVD.

If anyone follows ShutUpLupone on social media, they posted a 40 second clip of Patti's thoughts. She absolutely loved it, said Nicole was stunning and heartbreaking, and she left the theatre feeling energized. I'm so happy that she loved it as much as I did.

GYPSY Previews

Intermission now. First preview glitches and qualms aside, I have to say I'm not too impressed. Baby June is a star, so far she's the highlight for me. The choreo is great, there have been some funny moments, but overall it's a bit flat for me. There's no denying Audra's talent, but I don't think the role does her voice many favors. That could come down to preference, of course; I prefer a ballsy belter singing these songs. Hopefully act two will leave more of an impression.

SUNSET BLVD. Reviews

Am I really about to call out of work on Wednesday to go see Sunset again that evening? I feel as though I MUST be in the same building with her while she is watching it. Hearing a report afterwards simply isn’t enough.

SUNSET BLVD to transfer to Broadway

This is an absolutely stunning production…wow. I’m still gathering my thoughts, but I was so impressed with this. The final scene alone will be seared into my brain for the longest time.

SUNSET BLVD to transfer to Broadway

Going tonight and soooooo excited…this is the first time I’m going to the truly first preview of a show. I did go to the reopening of Company, but technically it had already played a few performances before the shutdown so I’m not sure it counts. I walked by the theatre before, gift baskets were being delivered and I could see the house staff congregating inside. The next 2 hours of waiting are gonna be rough!!

When she sings “Every minute designed”, that is a new recording, and you can really hear the strain in her voice before it goes back to unstrained 2022 vocals. The final “your heartbeat” also soun
