I, for one, cannot wait to give this music another listen.
There’s a beautiful underscoring moment that has stuck with me and likely won’t be on this album. When Tamara and Rafaela first embrace and head back to the studio for the night (towards the end of Act I), the opening piano lick of “I Will Paint Her” can be heard amidst a tremolo from the strings, leading into a lush instrumental chorus of “Woman Is” from the full orchestra. It then quiets down, and only a soft piano comes in when Tadeusz stops by.

"
They started recording it recently! I saw the musicians posting about on their Instagram stories
Hopefully we’ll get it soon! I also want to blast all the songs from my stereo

Also interesting how Eden and Amber both are pretty openly airing their frustration on this. Particularly as it relates to helping with the Tonys. Seems there’s some frustrations bubbling over with he producers

Are we sure the fate of this album will be another Paradise Square situation? They never set any exact release dates, and a planned physical copy was never available for pre-order (in Lempicka's case, it's already on Amazon). They aren't in legal trouble as Garth was, but payment might still be due.
And hey, some of us doubted KPOP would be released. It was delayed nearly 3 months, and it's here.
Album production is capitalized separately of the production and often starts later in the lifespan of the show. So they very well could still be raising that separate money in order to get it released. I personally want the album so I’m not wishing them failure, just conjecture.
For those that don’t use instagram what did their posts say?
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

I mean, Sony Masterworks is a producer on the show. If they want this to have any legs after Broadway, they need that cast recording.
One of Lempicka's producers was a contestant on Jeopardy last night. He came across as a smug entitled twit. He didn't win. Perhaps they were going to use that money to release the cast album?

Jeopardy tapes about 2-3 months in advance. Sometimes more. LEMPICKA hadn’t even posted its closing notice. I believe he taped his appearance when the show was about to or had just started previews.
When vinyl was the predominant release vehicle for decades, cast albums were often recorded on the first no-show day after the official opening. Release was often a week to 10 days later. There’s really no reason this timetable couldn’t be used today…at least for digital streaming releases.
As we all know, there were some pretty magnificent cast albums released in the 50s, 60s and 70s. Also, many, many of those cast albums were worked into the show’s budget…which probably explains why so many musicals got recorded and released back in the day.
