Craig,
If your not familiar with the city that listing can be quite confusing.
I would suggest:
John’s Pizza (it’s a full Restaurant) on 44th btwn Broadway and 8th, Next to the St. James theatre it has excellent food, good service and its located in the basement of an old church. Hows that for cozy? Cheep prices.
Or
Southside Café (again it’s a full Restaurant) on 47th btwn Broadway and 8th. Next to the Brooks Atkinson across from the Barrymore. Very good food, excellent service small place with about 10-15 tables. Moderately priced.
What's your idea of excellent and what's your idea of reasonable pricing?
You can do a search on menupages.com--they have a cool search feature and complete menus with prices.
Rene Pujol is a nice restaurant at 321 W. 51st:

Very good French food and a friendly, not pretentious or stuffy, atmosphere.

Gallagher's on W. 52nd Street (a few doors east of the Neil Simon Theatre).

I always hike over to Rachel's American Bistro (on 9th Ave between 42nd and 43rd... or is it 43rd and 44th?) It's a few minutes further than most of the theatre district restaurants, but it's slightly less expensive and has a great atmosphere-- low-key and intimate without pretension, and the food is pretty good too. :)
If you're gay, go to eatery or Vice Versa...
if you're a foodie, go to Hell's Kitchen or Beppe....
I went to Johns Pizza and I loved it. The food was great (hot from the oven near by) and it wasn't expensive.
I say Ellen's if your looking for something quick.
But I love "Tavern on the Green" and the food is wonderful.
What type of restaurant are you looking for: Italian? Japanese? American? Chinese? French? That would better help narrow down.
BICE at 7 East 54th St. is my favorite.

I love Bice, but it definitely isn't reasonably priced.
It is a bit expensive, but I have to go there whenever I am in NYC for the Carpaccio!
I love Uncle Nick's in Hells Kitchen... Its only a few blocks walk form the Theatre District...
747 9TH Ave (Cross Street: Between 50th Street and 51st Street)
New York, NY 10019-6617
I recommend Chelsea Grill of Hell's Kitchen. A little further to walk than the usual theater district places, but good food, nice atmosphere and ok prices.
Reasonable in Times Square:
Pizza: John's is my favorite.
Sushi: Raku (Inexpensive)
Blue Water Grill (Expensive)
Blue Fin (Expensive)
Chinese: Shun Lee Palace (The best but expensive)
Shun Lee West (Excellent, expensive)
The Cottage- 76th Amsterdam (excellent and cheap)
Meli Melo- (French inexpensive dessert is a must)
Soup: The Edison Cafe (The best soup in Times Square and it is cheap. PS I told the Edison about the burger issue and they improved it. I had a burger at the Edison last week and it was wonderful. (They switched the meat company)
The Edison makes a very decent cheap burger now. It is not in the same league as 21 but it is only $5.00. (21 is almost $30)
For more tips check my site:

For Shrimp- City Crab (Moderate the best)
For drinks- Tony's Di Napoli (Frozen Bellini)
PS My site will have a new feature with very detailed info on restaurants. This is one month away.

It's really broad simply to ask for a restaurant with "reasonable" pricing in NYC. There are thousands. What do you mean by "reasonable"? Cheap? Fairly Expensive?
Please be more specific.

DaRosina, on restaurant row, best moderate Italian around. Allthough I kind of hate to keep pluging them. Hopefully they won't get too popular and jack their prices up like my favorite hotel did (The Edison).
