Any news on this? I the theatre still taking pre-orders? Seems odd that no announcement has been made.

Hm...It's Elton John. I would assume it will be recorded. On the Lestat musical forum they said "Late Summer...August."

I'd rather hear from someone who has a bit more inside info.

You know, I've tried to be nice. But, f**k it. You're a big bitch. Do us all a favor and go run into traffic.
Oh no, the 3 dumbest posters on the board are laughing at me. What am I to do?

Actually, I think they were laughing at RentBoy's little tantrum. I must admit, it was slightly smirk inducing.

Anyways, so will there be a cast recording. I really like the "I Want More" song.

Don't worry. I hear the US government is going to make sure it is recorded so they can blast it in the direction of enemy troops. Once they are tortured with the score, they are bound to surrender.

They're going to start recording at the end of the month.

Are you trying to say you did not like the score? Be direct & do not hide your feelings
Will this go the way of the DRACULA OBC recording?
The palace may be free soon.
Straight from the cast: The cast recording will take place Monday.

Yep, more info in the link.
I may have a sick fascination with what I consider to be a bad show (or at least judging from what I saw in Dec./Jan.), but I'm glad it's getting recorded. The cast is wonderful. :)

I agree with LizzieCurry that the cast deserves to have a recording. It may not be the best, but I think the cast deserves any bonus they can get for working their tails off in this piece of tripe.
I think every show deserves a cast album because everyshow touches atleast one person.
Including Bryan.

edit...darn..I had written something witty but I felt too bad to keep it posted... Updated On: 5/14/06 at 04:04 AM
emo_geek, I completely agree. Every show deserves an album, if not only as a historical document. I hate when you find a show that you like but they dont get a record and the music just fades off from your memory. It's a very sad thing.
Indeed, every cast deserves to record their shows. But at the end of the day, it's a business and the record companies (and sometimes the producers of the shows themselves) need to justify the cost. LESTAT, I suspect, is a lost cause. But Elton John's record company will want to keep him happy. And in the music world, what's a few hundred thousand dollars? That's probably less money than John spends on yearly airplane chandelier repairs.*

This may be wrong of me to say, there are Elton John demos of the songs (about 10) currently available. And they're significantly better than the show itself.
