Romney was not "deeply involved" in Bain Capital in 2001 when GST Steel went bankrupt. He left operations of Bain in 1999. The person who was working at Bain at the time of the bankruptcy was Obama campaign bundler Jonathan Lavine,

You mean this G8 Roxy? Where Obama encouraged growth over austerity? You know...since austerity measures in Europe have been an absolute failure?

Obama campaigning in 2007: " We will not take a DIME from Washington lobbyists or special interest PACs. We are going to change how Washington works. They will not fund my party, they will not run our White House, and they will not drown out the voice of the American people."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/white-house-visitor-logs-show-lobbying-going-strong/2012/05/20/gIQA2ok4dU_story.html?wprss=

"The visitor logs for Jan. 17 — one of the most recent days available — show that the lobbying industry Obama has vowed to constrain is a regular presence at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. The records also suggest that lobbyists with personal connections to the White House enjoy the easiest access.
The White House visitor records make it clear that Obama’s senior officials are granting that access to some of K Street’s most influential representatives. In many cases, those lobbyists have long-standing connections to the president or his aides. Republican lobbyists coming to visit are rare, while Democratic lobbyists are common, whether they are representing corporate clients or liberal causes."

Republican's latest crybaby tantrum rally is, "It's only a flip-flop if a Republican does it!!"

Am I the only one who remembers the term "flip-flop" having its genesis with the John Kerry smear campaign? The question, ultimately, isn't who is calling names, but who the names fit. Unfortunately, it fit Kerry quite well, which honestly was one of the main reasons he embarrassingly lost that election.

And now...?

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

A very early Saturday Night Live sketch has Dan Aykroid as Jimmy Carter responding to the Reagan campaign's charges that he was a flip-flopper.

Romney can't call the plasticity of his ideas "evolution," because evolution doesn't go backwards.

Obama and the Dems in Congress are planning on cutting the D.C. Voucher program that has helped send hundreds of poor, black children to prestigious private schools (similar to the private school Pres. Obama attended and similar to the one his two daughters currently attend).
The parenst of black teens in this video want to ask Prsident Obama, "WHY?"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7FS5B-CynM

From THE WASHINGTON POST:

Why is Obama killing off D.C.'s voucher program?

The Obama administration said it was going to respect science and respond to evidence -- a contrast, many Democrats said, to the previous regime. So why is President Obama killing off the program that offers the best chance to find out if school vouchers work?

Congress has been paying for the D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program, which helps more than a thousand District children attend private schools. It gives a chance of a future to children who otherwise would be condemned to attend failing schools. How can that be bad?

Generally, opponents offer two arguments. One is that it won't solve the whole problem. Well, no. That's why everyone should support what Chancellor Michelle Rhee is trying to do to improve all D.C. schools. But even she supports the scholarship program. She testified before the Senate last September that until her reforms have had a few more years to take root, she can't guarantee a quality education to every District child. No wonder that every year there have been many more applicants for the vouchers than vouchers to give out.

The second objection is that if children or families with get-up-and-go actually get up and go, things will be even worse for those left behind. There are a lot of problems with this argument, but the main one is that the people who make it usually aren't willing to condemn their own children to attend terrible high schools in order to improve things for the other kids there. Why should we demand that of families who have high aspirations but can't afford to move?

But even if you're inclined against vouchers, why not embrace a program that has a chance to shed real light on the long-running, fraught and inconclusive argument about their effectiveness? The D.C. program was established to provide such evidence. It enrolled a control group of children who applied for vouchers but didn't get them, and it is following them along with the kids with vouchers. In a couple more years, if funded robustly, it would give us a real sense of what worked and what didn't. That could be helpful to lots of children.

Yet the Obama administration seems to be doing everything it can to wind down the program. Why? Early research results have been positive -- certainly in terms of parental satisfaction, but also for achievement. Maybe the Democratic Party, and the teachers union leaders who support it, would rather not see any more evidence.

By Fred Hiatt

And where does Romney stand??

From THE WASHINGTON TIMES:

Mitt Romney said Wednesday that it was inexcusable for President Obama to try to shut down the Districts federally backed voucher pilot program that has sent thousands of the citys students to private schools.

The Opportunity Scholarship Program, which falls under the direct jurisdiction of Congress, has been politically contentious from the start, with the powerful teachers unions opposing them but parents overwhelmingly backing them.

The president shut that down, his party shut that down, said Mr. Romney while campaigning at a small business in Chantilly, Va.

The Romney camp said the former Massachusetts governor is a supporter of the D.C. program in particular, and giving parents school choice more broadly.

Sigh.
1) Michelle Rhee, like all the other talking puppets in educational politics, has had virtually NO real experience in the classroom.
From wikipedia:
Inspired by a PBS special that she saw when she was a senior in college, Rhee signed up with Teach For America, went through their brief training period in how to teach, then worked for three years as a teacher in Baltimore, Maryland.[4][6] She was assigned to one of the lowest-performing schools.[5] She had difficulty controlling her classroom the first year.[5] She has said the stress gave her hives,[5] and that she once put small pieces of masking tape on the children's mouths so they would be quiet on the way to the lunchroom.[7][8] Rhee told Washingtonian magazine that she was demoralized by her first year of teaching, but said to herself, "I’m not going to let eight-year-old kids run me out of town", and took more courses in education and received her teachers' certification.[4] Rhee first year test scores showed a precipitous drop in her class: Average math percentile dropped from 64% to 17%. Average reading percentile dropped from 37% to 21%.[9]
This is who's leading the charge towards charter schools?
Schools that have been PROVEN over and over and over simply do not work most of the time?

2)Of course Romney said the opposite. If Obama said the sky was blue he would say it was red. It doesn't matter that the sky IS blue, it's just a gut reaction.

3)The youtube video you posted is three years old. That's the best you can do?

In D.C. schools, Obama chooses unions over kids

President zeroes out funding for popular voucher program

May 20, 2012|Robert L. Ehrlich Jr

Just when you thought the District of Columbia Opportunity Scholarship Program for poor, predominantly minority kids was fully protected from politics, here comes the Obama administration with another broadside.

The popular program (which falls under congressional jurisdiction) allows impoverished children in the notoriously underperforming D.C. public school system to attend area private schools with vouchers of up to $12,000. Its contentious history includes full-scale support from congressional Republicans and theGeorge W. Bush administration. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, it took but a few short months for a new Obama administration to pull the plug on new applicants in 2009. The scheduled termination of the program was just another sop to anti-school-choice teachers unions from a union friendly president.
The program is quite popular. Public opinion polls reflect clear majority support within the District. And there is a reason for such public support. Objective analysis from a variety of well-respected investigators (including the research arm of the Obama administration's Education Department) reflects what common sense would lead one to suspect: Voucher recipients score better on standardized reading tests and enjoy substantially higher graduation rates, as compared with their peers in the D.C. public schools.

Simply put, the program works.

Nevertheless, now comes the Obama administration with an election-year attempt to gin up its left flank by zeroing out voucher funding in its fiscal 2013 budget. The targeted beneficiaries: teachers unions and their anti-voucher allies in Congress.

These are SO easy to find!!

The very first sentence of this Obama ad completely negates the entire ad!!

"I really feel in my heart people need to know what Mitt Romney did to Marion, Indiana in 1994."

From FACTCHECK:
The five-minute-plus Web video produced by the Obama campaign starts with a woman saying, “I really feel in my heart people need to know what Mitt Romney did to Marion, Ind., in 1994.” A minute into the film, which was released May 21, this text appears on the screen: “1994 Bain Capital-owned Ampad buys SCM. Mitt Romney is Bain Capital’s CEO.”

Mitt Romney took leave from Bain Capital in 1994 to run for the Senate!!

There appears to be a long list of Democrats who don't like he Obama ads attacking Mitt Romney's work at Bain capital.

"Democrats balk at Obama campaign’s sustained attack on Bain Capital

By Cameron Joseph, The Hill

Some influential Democrats on and off Capitol Hill are refusing to give President Obama political cover for his attacks on Mitt Romney’s record at Bain Capital.

Despite pushback from more than a half-dozen Democrats, the Obama campaign on Tuesday defended how it has scrutinized Romney’s business background.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), a widely respected member of Congress, stopped short of criticizing the president, but made it clear that the campaign should pivot.

“It’s done,” she said. “Go on to other things now.”"

[For the record, Feinstein is a millionaire whose husband made most of their money doing EXACTLY what Romney did at Bain!!]

"Other Democrats who are less than enthusiastic to Obama’s Bain ad include former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, ex-Rep. Harold Ford Jr. (Tenn.) and Newark, N.J., Mayor Cory Booker. Rendell called negative ads “disappointing,” while Booker called the specific ad “nauseating.” "

Well, it doesn't appear that the attacks are working anyway!

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-505267_162-57440628/attacks-on-romneys-business-past-not-sticking/

"(CBS News) WASHINGTON -- President Obama is losing ground in the latest polls to Republican challenger Mitt Romney, who's pushing back against Democrats criticizing his business experience.

As the president has stepped up his attacks on Romney and his record at the private equity firm Bain Capital, Romney has indicated, during this crucial period to define himself to the electorate, he is not going to take the attacks lying down.

"He just doesn't have a clue what to do to get this economy going. I do," Romney asserted in an interview with Mark Halperin, of Time magazine.

Romney responded aggressively Wednesday to the Obama campaign's attack on his work as CEO of Bain Capital, and to questions about his qualifications to be president.

In the Time interview, Romney turned the tables, almost scoffing at Mr. Obama's qualifications when he ran for president in 2008.

"Right now," Romney told Halperin, "we have an economy in trouble, and someone who's spent their career in the economy is more suited to help fix the economy than someone who's spent his life in politics and as a community organizer."

Full coverage: Election 2012

In the past two weeks, the Obama campaign has rolled out several attacks on Romney and his time at Bain Capital.

"He's running for president, and if he's going to run the country the way he ran our business, I wouldn't want him there," a steelworker says in one ad.

But so far, it's not working.

Instead of a bump in public opinion for the president, recent polls show Romney's approval ratings on the rise -- and sharply so in the key swing state of Florida.

With the attacks failing to resonate, the Obama campaign is hitting even harder."

I don't understand why President Obama doesn't just run on his economic record of the past three years.
Anyone out there care to answer that??

President Obama's weekly KILL LIST: Who Shall I Assassinate This Week?

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/05/29/world/obamas-leadership-in-war-on-al-qaeda.html?pagewanted=all

http://rt.com/usa/news/drone-strike-obama-casualties-604/

Wow!! This is HUGE! How can liberals support this guy? If this were Bush doing this, they'd be dragging him to the gallows to hang him for WAR CRIMES! This is the FLIP-FLOP of all FLIP-FLOPS. I defy anyone to defend this!!

Obama quotes: "Our legitimacy is reduced when we've got a Guantanamo Bay that is opened, when we suspend habeas corpus, those types of things erode our moral claims that we are acting on behalf of broader, universal principles."

"We're going to lead by shutting down Guantanamo and restoring habeas corpus in this country so that we offer them an example."

"I think that folks made a terrific point; that we have to stand for human rights and that should be part of the trade equation. It is harder for us to do it when we have situations like Guantanamo. Where we've suspended habeas corpus, to the extent that we are not being true to our values and our ideals, THAT sends a negative message to the world, and it gives us less leverage then when we want to deal with countries that are abusing human rights."

So, we shouldn't arrest the terrorists and hold them in Gitmo without a trial because that isn't fair, but we can fly over them and blast them to tiny pieces?
Can someone explain to me how this is legit?
