Does anyone know if Kyle is in fact joining the tour for the Durham, NC stop, or is this merely a case of an uninformed intern?

According to his Instagram, he's back in the show. Don't know for how long, but if venues are announcing it it's probably true.
yes, he's back in the show. I wonder if this was last minute, or if this was planned all along.
Hmm. The timing seems to coincide with the end of filming for "Nashville." But then again, Sam Lips has been missing performances left and right, lately. Could be either reason.
Do we have any more information yet on how long Kyle is staying with the tour? I'm seeing the show in early June, and I would love to see him in the role!
Yes. 3 weeks. But there must be a story there. Sam Lipps had been out a lot.
based on the B'way performers & u/s, the only one that comes to mind that could replace Lips/KDM in a few weeks would be Erik Altemus. I just hope KDM isn't a filler until Josh Kaufman jumps into the tour.
I was not going to see the tour in atlanta next week (because my experience seeing it with Patina had been so perfect and incredible), but since KDM announced he was in it, I went ahead and got a ticket.
if he's only with the tour for three weeks, his last show would be May 17,

Just saw the show in Atlanta last night. I didn't realize that KDM was with the tour (hadn't read this thread too recently-haha). Is it weird that the tour cast page has not been updated with KDM's name and bio on the website? Also I noticed that Sam Lips was still on the big cast board in the lobby.
Was so happy to see KDM! I saw him in early September at the Music Box and I really think he has improved more in this show--especially that one high note in "corner of the sky".
My low point was that Sabrina Harper as LP. Her singing and dancing were both phenomenal, but she just wasn't sinister enough in the role, like I had seen with Patina (in videos) and the LP I saw on Broadway, Ciara Renee. Since Harper is also Fastrada, we had Kate Wesler (I'm pretty sure) on as Fastrada, who I didn't enjoy nearly as much as Charlotte D'Amboise.
Really enjoyed Tory Trowbridge as Catherine though-- and she had big shoes to fill since I had seen the amazing Rachel Bay Jones!

Kristine Reese was actually the one on for Catherine.
FYI, Sam Lips is back in the tour.
Fantastic news! Lisa Karlin is officially contracted as Leading Player! :) She was AMAZING when I saw her, plus Ive read other reviews of her performances as understudy of LP, and they all say how great she was. Congratulations Lisa! :)

I believe you because Sasha hurt her arm or something like that, but how do you know?
maybe it's a temp. contract for Karlin until Sasha Allen can return. Allen injured herself back in early May and has been out since. I think under equity rules, an understudy can't perform the role longer than 3 weeks. This likely caused Karlin to be issued a new contract until Allen possibly returns. This was the same reason why Molly Tynes was brought in for 3 weeks when Sabrina Harper was injured. The u/s couldn't perform the role longer than 3 weeks and Harper was out for 6 weeks.

Both Lisa and Sasha have stated on Twitter that this is temporary and Sasha will be back soon.
I wonder how soon she will be back? I'm seeing the show at least twice next week. I'd love to see Lisa. While I know it probably won't happen, I wouldn't mind catching Sabrina in the role as well.
According to Erik Altemus' Facebook page, he is joining the Pippin Tour beginning with the current Louisville stop. I don't know if he'll be playing Pippin or Lewis.
I am still hoping to see this in Seattle in Aug... And they are still only allowing subscription ticket sales.
Pretty sure Erik will be Lewis. Callan Bergmann just left.
He is playing Lewis. Sam is back as Pippin. Callan Bergman played his last performance on Sunday.
I was at opening tonight in Louisville, and Erik had an insert (Welcomes to the company), but strangely enough his understudy Mathew deGuzman was on as Lewis. This was my second time seeing this production (1st time seeing the tour), and I was just as blown away as when I saw the show in New York. Lisa Karlin was superb as the Leading Player. Every thing she did was spot on and I found her LP to be extremely intimidating. She hits the comic/dramatic line right on and looks stunning. I loved her "On the Right Track" riff so much! Sam Lips was fine as Pippin, I preferred Kyle Dean Massey (my 1st Pippin), but Sam was very good in the role. John Rubinstein was delightful. I noticed he is throwing in wonderful ad libs every now and then and really making the role his own. Sabrina Harper was FANTASTIC as Fastrada! "Spread a Little Sunshine" was thrilling. Kristine Reese was the biggest surprise of the night. I was so taken by Rachel Bay Jones' portrayal that I didn't think anyone could top her performance. Kristine was absolutely stunning. She very clearly made the role her own and wasn't just a carbon copy of Jones. Dare I say that I might have liked Kristine a hair more than Jones! Lastly Adrienne Barbeau! She gave a very respectable performance, and landed a lot of laughs, but I still think Andrea Martin in definitive as Berthe. I went to the stage door afterwards and everyone was so nice! It just so happened to be Sam's birthday, so everyone waiting sang for him, he seemed very taken back and moved. I took a second to chat with Lisa and she was so gracious. I told her I was so happy she gets to do the show as the LP full time and she said she was the luckiest girl in the world. I asked how Sasha was doing and she said that she was getting better, and to expect her back in the somewhat near future. This was just as thrilling as my first time and I hope to see it at least one more time before it leaves Kentucky!
