What’s so great about the direction of Into the Woods? I thought it was laughably amateur in its staging. Lots of just turning upstage or bad blocking. Compared to the other directors on the list… yeah… I don’t get that.

I cant say that I am disappointed, however. I also thought that Comer was dangerously close to overacting. Of the performances I have seen, I thought Chastain gave the best performance; but I have missed some eligible highly acclaimed, frequently limited engagement performances, including those of Hayes, Henderson, and the Top Dog gents.
I am in the camp that thought that Clark gave a terrific performance, but I don't think it is awful that she didn't win, Mrs. Lovett is certainly a meaty role that allows a solid performer to shine."
Kimberly Akimbo was eligible during its 2021 Off-Broadway run, making the Broadway transfer ineligible this season.

I can really see most of these choices repeating on Tony night...and I wouldn't be at all disappointed. Well deserved honor to Ashford...she was one of the few elements that justified this revival.
I really do not understand the love for the direction of this INTO THE WOODS revival, but I seem to be in the minority.
You are not alone, it was basically directionless, in my opinion.

Tell me you fundamentally misunderstand the role of a director without telling me.
I understood it just fine. It's just my opinion, nothing more, nothing less.
I was bored to tears, so clearly I don’t agree. Kad walked out with me. One man’s “work of art” is another’s would-be nap. - You
Weird how you can have a different opinion of a show yet I can't. Nah.
You know what, Sutton? You’re right. My apologies.
Thanks, no worries. Have a fun weekend.
Instead of just proclaiming your opinion, why don’t you actually support with details for once? Opinions aren’t all made equal. What about this production made it feel directionless?

Tweens, stop looking like jokes on these boards. The Drama League is voted on by audiences. Anyone can become a member of the League if they pay for the membership. There's no overlap with the Tonys, on top of the fact that Kimberly Akimbo wasn't eligible. Stop making fools of yourselves.

Ashford's win over Comer is a joke. Not well deserved!
Sutton, people like you are why this board has become insufferable over the last few years.
