I am definitely impressed. I bow in submission to the artistry of this design.
i am amazed. this poster is gorgeous. great advertising can make or break a show. i haven't seen something this captivating in a long time.
A poster like this (and the play's great too) will get my ass to NYC.
Finally.
I thought this design was good, but it's been blown out of the water by this new design.
naw... see, I like that one better. it's not as disturbing, and it ads an element of beauty.

^^ It looks as if the horse is blinded by looking at a naked man...
I don't like either of them. They're clever, but it's a bit too much.

ummm... that's kinda what the play is about.

The horse is not blinded by looking at a naked man.
The naked man blinds the horse.
The second poster is interesting, but I don't love it. It reminds me of this cheap Native American poster art they sell at the mall for some reason.
haha robbiej, I can just see Chris Hansen sitting smugly in an empty theatre just waiting to confront u! "Sir, you were aware that this horse was underage!"

Wow. That's very nicely done indeed. Look at the point on the Q- the attention to detail is really great.

Wow. I need to learn to observe more... I didn't even notice the stake.
Thanks for pointing that out!
clever, but exceedingly ugly. I can't look at it anymore.
Back on the who designed to poster, I suspect it may be someone at Dewynters - they're in charge of the website, and are possibly the dominant force in poster design in London - Avenue Q, Evita, Frost Nixon, Phantom, Mama Mia, Wicked, WWRY, LOTR etc are all from them.
Wow, it is exteremly fitting for the play. Amazing
God, the website intro is just as disturbing as the poster...
Love it!
Fiction Writer- this particular production is going to be in London, not New York
But this production is rumored to come to NY in 2008, some time after Radcliffe finishes filming for the next Harry Potter film.
oooh! really??? I had no idea. I will most def. be there.
Love the play, and that poster is truly amazing
Ahhhhhh, the joys of Photoshop.
When I first looked at the title, I thought this thread was about a great member. When I saw the upper 1/2 of the poster, I thought Daniel Radcliffe had deformed nipples. And as I scrolled down, I thought they mutilated the poor boy. But now I can see the merging of Dan and horse head, although it took a while. So therefore, I am retarded and need to go to an asylum.
If it goes to NY, they'll have angry letters from parents because 13-year-old girls dragged them to see the show. Poor scarred-for-life girls.
And I must add that the distubing part of this [post] is the fact that I'm 14 and saying 'nipples'.
Julian2----That comment just made my day....
Giggity Giggity!
Me and my friends did that about 2042 times yesterday....LOL
That is a brilliant poster, although I doubt it is Radcliffe in the photo. I mean how can you tell?
Speaking of Radcliffe, his acting in the Potter films is adequate for the role, nothing great. He looks the part and has a certain charm, but not much depth. It will be interesting to see if he can pull off Alan.
That second poster is a joke, right? I agree with Michael Bennett, I think I saw that on velvet in a truck-stop gift shop right outside of Yuma, Arizona.

The new poster really is great. It really shows the twisted thriller-ness, I suppose, of the play.
But there's something about the original logo that incorporates the theatrical style of the horses that is also great. Simple, but great.
Maybe Griffiths and Radcliffe, if they are good, will re-make the movie.

Lovely poster, but I will not be in the least surprised if Radcliffe is not torn apart by the critics- in the UK his acting is never spoken of highly.
And as for Mr Griffiths- judging by the difficulty he had learning the lines for The History Boys, God only knows how he will memorize all those Dysart monologues!
It's about time John Napier had an interesting new challenge, though.

Amazing poster. Although I don't know if I want to stare at it in the station. I can't wait to see the production though.
