I am interested to see what Broadway in Chicago will be doing for the forthcoming season.

My prediction:

The Color Purple

Waitress

School of Rock

Love Never Dies

and some pre-Broadway show, unless they advertise Love Never Dies as pre-Broadway.

I totally forgot they hadn't announced a large chunk of their season yet! So far they have Les Mis, Escape to Margaritaville (the immediate stop before Broadway), Wicked, Beautiful... I would agree with Color Purple, predict one true Out-of-Town tryout, SOR, Waitress, maybe Bright Star? I don't think On Your Feet will come back around until at least the summer or early year 2 (as per Kinky Boots)

Broadway in Orlando 2017-2018:

Love Never Dies: The Phantom Returns
Waitress
School of Rock
Rent
Something Rotten
On Your Feet
The King and I

Add ons: The Book of Mormon and The Lion King.

And subscribers next year are guaranteed first access to seats for Hamilton which comes in 2018-2019.

I'm fine with everything except Love Never Dies (do we really need two ALW shows in one season???) and the stupid non-Equity Rent that they're peddling on us.

I was tempted to subscribe to the 2017-2018 Orlando season, but after doing the math, I just don't think I'm going to go for it. There's only a couple shows I'd like to see, and honestly my main reason for doing it would be priority access to the 2018-2019 season for Hamilton. Multiply the cost of two season subscriptions times two for my husband and myself, I think I'd rather just spend that towards another trip to NYC... And hopefully I'll just be able to pick up individual tickets for specific shows this season.

I'm surprised SOR is coming Christmas week. Wondering if that might make for some better availability?

Yes. I'm puzzled as to why it's returning so soon.

Pantages announces tomorrow, any guesses? I'm assuming Waitress & School of Rock. Something Rotten will most likely be at Ahmanson and I'm not sure were Color Purple would go, but Ahmanson feels like a good fit. Aladdin could go either way. Mary Poppins went to Ahmanson both times it came, but Lion King is always at Pantages. I'm really hoping for a good Pantages season because I'm most likely purchasing a season package, if Hamilton is included, which it should be. I'm guessing Love Never Dies will be coming, but I'd rather it not. Hopefully it's not both Phantom & Love Never Dies, then that'd be three ALW shows in one season.

Proctors in Schenectady announced its season, as well as the season for Capital Rep, which it manages, tonight. An easy Amtrak ride up the Hudson if you want to see any of these tours.

Like many of other theaters the past few weeks, the 17/18 season was totally overshadowed by the Hamilton for 18/19 announcement, but here is next season:

“The Color Purple” — Oct. 7-14-Tour Tech and Launch
“Fun Home” — Oct. 31-Nov. 5
“Finding Neverland” — Dec. 5-10
“The Bodyguard” — Jan. 30-Feb. 4, 2018
“Les Miserables” — Feb. 20-25, 2018-Season Option

"The Humans": March 6–11-Part of the Subscription Season at Capital Rep, but playing at Proctors
“The King and I” — May 1-6, 2018
“On Your Feet” — May 29-June 6, 2018

At least 2 of these have already been confirmed online, if you know where to find the information.

A few quick stops of non-equity tours, and possibly a plot week of a SETA usually get announced in May when the rest of the events Proctors presents get announced.

If you are in the North East Major markets-Boston, Providence, Buffalo, Rochester, Hartford, Philadelphia-you can assume you might get some of these tours if you aren't getting them this year-The theaters up here tend to route in equity tours for several weeks at a jump.

It's always hard to know what will go to the Ahmanson and what will go to the Pantages.  The Ahmanson usually has a play or two and the rumor is that the Deaf West Spring Awakening is going there, though we will see if that pans out.  I'm REALLY hoping Love Never Dies doesn't go to the Pantages. Not a fan of Phantom at all.

I agree with you Coneal on Love Never Dies. I'm also thinking On Your Feet is going to Pantages, since it's in a Nederlander house on Broadway and The Humans will go to Ahmanson.

The Color Purple - Feb. 27-Mar. 4, 2018

Hamilton is the current season. Unless it's scheduled to come back again? Either way, I will not be seeing it.

I'd love Hedwig to come back. Without Darren Criss or Lena Hall.

In the previous package, Hamilton was only sold for dates until early September. One would only assume that Hamilton's second half would be included in the next package.

I wasn't aware, and didn't know how long it was in town. I only know that friends bought the current season specifically for Hamilton.. Hope it works out for you!
