If you really don't like the candidates as people, look past them and at their actual policies. Look at their websites and educate yourself on the issues. Decency & compassion or pure evil. Your choice.
The senate and house races are important too, and to just sit it out is disgusting.

Civic duty? Lol you are not required by law to vote. They both are horrible choices, yes Trump is garbage but lets not kid ourselves here that he has any shot to win NY so by me not going to vote against him it doesn't even make a difference. Hell, I don't think the Republicans have ever won NY in my lifetime. So if I don't want to vote for Clinton why should I? If I don't want to vote for Clinton my vote literally doesn't matter. I'm not making a difference at all anyway and I think she's a terrible choice for president. This whole disaster is a waste of time and George Carlin said it best years ago, this garbage is rigged anyway. It's a shame that he's not still here today, he would have had a field day with this subject.
HuffPo ran an extraordinary and disturbing investigation of the faces of the alt-right- white nationalists of varying stripes who see Trump as the opening of their Pandora's box. They're not a joke.
These are the people who suddenly find themselves with an channel to power thanks to Trump and the GOP's enabling of him. And electing him would send a signal to the nationalist parties in Europe that their time is soon, too.
It's hilarious to me that Hillary's constituency is the one of "decency and compassion," and yet y'all hold anybody who disagrees with or doubts her WILLINGLY at the stake, ready to go up in flames.
Who is "y'all"? I've never done that. Nor most of those I know who are voting for Clinton.

The whole "my vote doesn't matter, anyway" is not an acceptable excuse for not voting. Whether you are part of a very clear majority or very clear minority, your vote LITERALLY counts. As in, your vote is COUNTED. And if you're relying on polls or historical voting trends to pre-determine the outcome of your state, then you are a foolish idiot. NOTHING IS CERTAIN except that your vote only counts if you actually vote. Yes, the two-party system controls the election and you may not want to vote for either of those two candidates. You can still vote honestly for the other candidates or write in your own, but if you claim "it doesn't matter" to do so, then I honestly feel that your opinion is worthless and invalid since you obviously do not care enough to participate. If you choose not to participate in the vote, then please don't participate in the discussion, either. The ONLY TIME your vote "literally doesn't matter" is when you intentionally choose not to vote. And by doing so, you have acknowledged and accepted that your opinion does not matter, either to us or to yourself. I find the proclamation to not participate in the vote under the guise of a stance or protest to be a selfish and vain act of cowardice and an immature and desperate plea for attention.
That's the sort of moronic attitude that surprised the UK with Brexit. If you don't vote and Trump is elected President, don't act surprised and by all means, blame yourself.

So far, I lost my niece because of this election and guns. I've lost one of my sisters. I've lost a dear friend who has been a vocal Trumpeteer. Perhaps the most damaging was I lost Pal Joey in my Berniebros personae. Actually my niece and I haven't been close since we were babies, my sister and I have had numerous bad times because of politics for years, and I never really knew that friend.

Great post, Steve! BTW, if anyone doesn't know what Steve's referring to with the Giuliani and the FBI leaks, check out Rachel Maddow's segment from yesterday. It's a pretty damning examination of the direct ties between Breitbart, the Trump campaign, Giuliani and the rabid anti-Hillary element in the FBI's New York bureau. You couldn't write this ****.
And, **** yeah to Dems getting a backbone and actually investigating Republicans for once.
Why does Brett Baier still have a job? Brian Williams was raked over the coals and essentially fired for something far less significant than Baier'a outright lie.
Oh, right. Because Baier works at Faux News, where I'm sure he's going to gets raise for this.

And dont forget how Loretta Lynch who the FBI reports to met with Trump and Melania in secret on a private plane alone! oh wait.......
I woke up this morning and my queasiness and anxiety are gone. The worst of the Comey/FBI gangbang is over.
Comey will resign in disgrace and be replaced by a woman who respects the law and the Constitution. The 100 FBI agents will quit in sputtering hissy fits and be replaced by minority officers. The agency will reform and become a force for good that cooperates with the CIA to combat terrorism here at home and abroad.
Republicans will lose the Senate and their hold over the House will be vastly diminished.
Madame President will appoint several liberal Supreme Court justices and the Democratic Senate will offer its advice and consent and confirm them.
The economy will boom. Jobs will be created. Cities will rebound. The Rust Belt will see new industries created. Income inequality will decrease, and a feeling of renewed opportunity will crop up from coast to coast.
Obamacare will continue, with several major reforms that will bring premiums and co-pays down.
Black lives will matter, and shootings by police as well as shootings of deaths will decrease.
PJ...what did you take before going to bed last night? Lol! From your lips to God's ear.
I wasn't feeling all that anxious until I watched Real Time with Bill Maher last night. His interview with President Obama aside, it was the darkest and bleakest Real Time I've ever watched. Bill's nervousness rubbed off on me. I went to bed with it on my mind and woke up to an anxiety attack early this morning. I've been self-medicating ever since. The next three days can't be over soon enough. I'm a wreck!
As a Canuck, i've no idea of how the FCC works, but could Trump actually get a broadcast license to continue to spue his brand of fecal puke to his faithful followers after he loses this election? ( setting him up for a 2nd go round?)
I was at a family dinner tonight and basically 4 out of 5 of them are voting for Trump. Two of them believed he's not going to win but are voting for him anyway, just because he's not Hillary. I honestly think he has a real shot of winning still, but even if he loses, how do I look at these people, basically half of the family I have, at the dinner table at Thanksgiving when the election comes up again, without having my lips snarl?
