I need some really great songs that can showcase two guys and two girls. Any suggestions?
(Sorry if this has already been asked before. Didn't see anything when I searched)
The Quartet from "Secret Garden" is quite beautiful. It's a beast to get it done right though.
How about "Closer than Ever" from "Closer than Ever?" It's an off-Broadway show but it's a great musical number.
"How Beautiful the Days" from The Most Happy Fella
"Unlikely Lovers" - FALSETTOS
"Some Other Time" - ON THE TOWN
"Love Will See Us Through.."/"You're Gonna Love Tomorrow" - FOLLIES
off Broadway - "If We Only Have Love" - JACQUES BREL...

Several choices in [title of show], most notably Nine People's Favorite Thing.

"Without Love" from Hairspray
(Might be a little too contemporary, but thought I'd throw it in anyway.)
It's an Off-Broadway show, but "Do You Know What It's Like" from "Zanna, Don't!" is one of my all time favorites.
Thanks for all the great suggestions! I've got a lot of great options from older musicals now. Any more contemporary songs?
I would like to second henrikegerman's suggestion of "Some Other Time" from the Leonard Bernstein, Comden and Green musical ON THE TOWN. This quartet is a gem, just exquisite with wonderful slightly complex harmonies. I would love the chance to sing the tenor line in this song. It was one of several numbers deleted from the movie version, alas. By all means, choose this.
not too serious a show at all but I've seen some good Quartet performances of "Be My Friend" from Edges.

"Why Stay/A Promise" from N2N isn't a traditional quartet number, but it has the 2 guys/2 girls you're looking for.
Also from Next to Normal is "Just Another Day," but that may be far too plot-specific for what you're looking for.
A few other 2 guys/2 girls songs from contemporary musicals that you may find worth looking into are:
"Not Alone" from A Very Potter Musical
"Too Much Too Soon" from American Idiot
"This Is How A Dream Comes True" from Shrek: The Musical
"Any Minute" from 13
"Waiting for the Girls Upstairs" is a quartet. Surprised nobody mentioned it.
Going to go ahead and second "Unlikely Lovers" BEAUTIFUL song.
Glinda, "Waiting for the Girls Upstairs" is technically an octet, but the younger four could easily be cut out for a performance like this.
"Dear One" from Kiss of the Spiderwoman is very pretty.
I second "Dear One" and if you need a comic quartet check out the "Quarrel-tet" from Whoop-Up.

If you can handle complex jazz harmonies, there are three or four in CITY OF ANGELS.
I'll second "Love Will See Us Through/You're Gonna Love Tomorrow." I would also suggest "Falling In Love With Someone (Quartet)" from Thoroughly Modern Millie and also "No One Is Alone" from Into The Woods. Be forewarned, the latter is mainly a duet for a majority of the number.
