...which one (and only one!) would you choose?

Even though it was sung in the movie version years beforehand, I would like to get up and sing "Le Jazz Hot" from VICTOR/VICTORIA because it's such a bouncy, fun number with a great beat and great lyrics.

I was tempted to say Shine from Billy Elliot, but I'm sticking to my roots.

Cabaret.

I'm sorry to be anal, but what are the rules here? Do I retain my same age, gender and vocal ability? (If so, I'm pretty much limited to something originated by Rex Harrison or Cyril Ritchard.)

Or do I get to imagine I am physically and vocally appropriate to any song I care to choose?

I'd have to get a big group of friends together and we would all sing and dance "I Hope I Get It" from A Chorus Line

Then I think I'll go with "Soliloquy" from CAROUSEL. That's a hell of an 8-minute solo.

Seems like the only thing we're missing at this early point in the thread is someone wailing "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going."

Trouble. And then everyone would naturally sing the chorus parts.

"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
