Yikes, I know its only for one performance but not a good start for Lysistrata Jones, could it actually manage to close before godspell?
Nice bump for everything except Follies. Yikes. Glad to see everything increasing though, and we should see great numbers in the coming weeks for Thanksgiving and the other holidays. The week days should be hurting the most since I know many shows were sold out this weekend.
Could Lysistrata's numbers be due to the fact that there is no "Broadway word of mouth" yet? I mean, Mormon wasn't sold out for the first few performances, but once the word got out it was selling like hotcakes.

^Is that a joke? It had ONE performance that was a FIRST PREVIEW which almost always papers tons of tickets, has huge discounts, and sells no premium seats. I'm not saying it will do well, I think that's far too early to state, but it's ridiculous to suggest that a show's "in trouble" after 1 preview.
A very nice week overall, though. I'm sure Veterans Day coupled with NJ public schools being off Thursday/Friday helped a lot.
I'm happy that Sister Act had a HUGE boost. It'll need to at least maintain those levels though to survive the winter.

As much as I love Follies, I'm beginning to think it shouldn't have extended. :/ I just really hope it recoups.
There is no chance of recouping now. But at least it isn't losing money (if the nut is 600k as suggested by the NYTimes).
Calm down, just speculating. Sure, it's the first preview, but that's the first time it will be exposed to a paying audience on Broadway, as well. Obviously premium seats were sold, as their top ticket for the week was $199. But yea, comps explain most of it.
it should be noted that Sister Act has opened up the extreme rear mezz from now through New Year's, hence the slight decrease in capacity %. It's attendance from last week went up from 8,959 to 10,284(+1,325).
Shrekster - my comment was addressed to PlayItAgain, not you, who is already discussing the show closing. I happen to agree with your comment. I was simply reacting to the kneejerk reactions that seem to result whenever grosses come out
GODSPELL's continued strategy of papering almost completely in order to keep their attendance percentage high while not coming remotely close to turning a weekly profit is baffling.
It's not THAT baffling..assuming they are not going to sell the tickets otherwise it would be better to have a full theatre and increase word of mouth than have half half-empty theatres of paying customers (cf. FOLLIES), IMO.
Right, qolbinau, but if the comps are consistently showing no correlation to word of mouth-generated sales, how is it even remotely worth it?

Wasn't one of their shows all comped given that it was opening night? That factored into their 8 shows last week. (Re: Godspell) So actually, they went up because it was only 7 paying shows. Am I wrong?
Godpsell is going to have to start charging for that "wine" they serve at intermission.
It's probably 2 buck chuck from Trader Joe's.
I'm still shocked that Wicked hasn't been in the 100% range for a while...

Maybe Lysistrata's bombing because Bway theatre goers are starting to develop taste?
$2 Buck Chuck is now $3 Bucks.
It ain't half bad taste wise. It tastes a hell of a lot better than some fancy wines.
Really surprised @ the low numbers for Follies. This will be the last revival we see for a long long time.

Follies gross isn' too bad though...
Glad to see Spider-Man continue to do well!
Also, are those numbers for Bonnie & Clyde good? I have heard great things about that show and am hoping that it will be around till spring of next year so I can get over to NYC to see it!
